brightness/contrast issues

I run DDO in full screen (windowed) mode. My eyes are getting old and DDO has become darker for me. When I adjust bright/contrast, those settings don't get saved. Is there a workaround OTHER than not using full windowed mode?

Go into your document's folder>Dungeons and Dragons Online> and look for UserPreferences.INI
make copy to backup this file to your desktop (or wherever)
edit it in notepad
Search for brightness, contrast, gamma. manually change them to the values you want and save the file. See if the settings persist for you this way. (if you bug something by mistake, just restore the copy backup you made to the folder)
