Bring Back the Official DDO Hardcore Server — Community Petition

Hardcore is meant for the players who want that experience, not as something every player is expected to participate in.

If someone doesn't want to start over or doesn't enjoy the Hardcore ruleset, they don't have to. But for the players who specifically enjoy the challenge of a fresh character, permanent consequences, and a different way of playing DDO, having that option is valuable.

I don't think one type of player needs to lose something for the other type of player to have another option.

They do if there is a knock on effect in terms of player pop on the servers. Apart from that I agree with letting anyone play how they want. But it's a significant consideration and impact.

I liked the old HCL more than the Fey event. But I was the only player in my guild who played the old HCL. The rest of my guild do not play often enough to spend that much time away from the main server on a brand new character. But they DID all play the Fey softcore HCL. I bet more player participated in the Fey event.

The DDO community is asking SSG to bring back the official dedicated Hardcore server.

I would love to see your research that validates your idea that 51% (at least) of the players are asking SSG to bring it back. Unless you think you are the community. Or did you mean to type "I'm asking SSG to bring back the official dedicated Hardcore server"?

I’ve been talking with various streamers and players who actually played on the original Hardcore server, and many of them have told me they want to see it come back. A few specifically told me that if I put a petition together, they would sign it.

So I did.

I’m not claiming that I represent every DDO player or that 51% of the player base supports it. I’m simply giving the people who have been asking for Hardcore back a way to show that support. The petition will ultimately show how much support is actually there.

If people want it back, they can sign it. If they don’t, they don’t have to. I’m just giving the community a way to make that choice for themselves.
