Buying a tome you have already used :(

So I did this thing that I bought a universal AP tome on a guy that had already used one. Dumb on my part, I got tricked because the mouseover said 'sharn' so I thought it's cool but the one you get from store is 'sharn' too apparently :( It's also btc so I can't move it to another toon.

I opened a ticket with support three days ago but had no respone. Is this something I can get a refund or replacement or did I just lose my points?

I remember reading about others who managed to get refunds for instances like this, so there's a chance for that at least. But you'll need to have submitted the correct ticket.

I can't remember if the previous attempts were done using the in game GM tickets, or the Bug/Account (for the Store) tickets. But my feeling it is the Bug/Account (for the Store) tickets that resolved it. So if you haven't got your ticket with the right group, do so now. And... Wait, unfortunately. Just a waiting game after that. :cautious:

I've done this before., I used the ingame GM ticket, it did take a week or so before I got the response and got the points refunded and the tome removed

Well, I'm not in a hurry. If it takes a week, I'll be happy to wait! Better than no resolution at all

the store should really not even show tomes that have already been used on whatever toon you are opening the store with....

Agreed. That's how it normally works. Or the tome should be at least be BtA... Wonder if u59 change goofed something.

afaik there is a little 'attention' button (that doesn't work currently, but is displayed) that is shown when you see tomes on a character, that already has the tome's bonus. at least for regular ability tomes it works. it does not on universal/racial AP tomes and tomes of destiny or fate tomes
i ran into the confusion with the latest summersales too

That's one of the reasons I got confused and bought it. That attention button wouldn't show up on that character even it did show up on an alt. So I thought cool I have a different skill tome on this guy :(

There should be a tab on the character status that itemizes EVERY permanent tome that has been applied to the character. This should include things like the buffs from the redeemed mysterious remnants as well as the store bought items and those granted as parts of expansion packs. I believe that I am missing some sources, but you should be getting the idea.

Well, there was a happy ending my ticket got resolved and I got my points back. Off to spend them on these new cosmetics le sigh

yes, that is under special feats
but this list lacks the destiny tomes, fate tomes and universal/racial AP tomes!
