Can Suzy on Shadowdale please knock off the blind guild invites?

Yeah. But I still see it pop-up in my chat feed. And if they're doing it to me, then they're probably doing it to others. And you'd think they'd take the hint after the 100000000000000000th time.

Agree it's annoying which is why I created a guild for my bank characters years ago - it's not a new problem and was even worse in 2012 when they first changed the guild rules to help large guilds.

I am not big on reporting people myself because some people just don't understand what they are doing is so frustrating - I would suggest before reporting let the person know that Cordovan said it was a violation and to report it, but instead you wanted to warn them so they don't get in trouble. If they ignore that and invite again later on a different character - they had their chance to change behavior and missed it.

My approach - after one warning that they are inviting a bank character that will make there leveling worse - I accept the next guild invite and it's a 50/50 chance you will be the only one left at some point and can usurp it. That's how I ended up with a guild for bank characters (more than one actually).

It's definitely bad for the game imo and the people most likely to take the bait are newish players that aren't yet in a guild.

As I was doing some mule maintenance last night, got the random guild invite from said person and turns out is in the same guild as my main. Popped back over to ask why and no answer. But yeah, I'd drop guild over being associated with that.

At least on Thrane, I'm pretty sure the person doing it is running a script while AFK. There are a couple of tells.

The first is how quickly any new/temp toons get hit with the blind invite. For someone to do that and not be AFK, they would literally have to be sitting there refreshing the Who list constantly for hours on end.

The second is that it's the same toon doing the inviting regardless of time of day.

The third is that they never seem to hit the same toon twice. Given how many toons were being transferred and initially showing up as guildless on the new servers before unpacking, there's almost no way a human could manually remember every toon they invited and not accidentally invite some a second time.

If people do report it, they should report it for harassment AND for AFK scripting.
