Can we get our Dhampir's with sparkly skin? Asking for a friend..

Kidding! It's for me actually... 🥰

So really this thread is about is about what are you expecting from this new (elf) race. 🦇

Something tells me that they're going to have that leapy thing the Eladrin tree has. I suspect they can see in the dark a bit... Do they have heightened senses (spot/search/listen)? Can they do ethereal/ghostly'ish stuff (probably in a tree somewhere...)? Vulnerabilities to silver & Italian dishes with too much garlic?
Do they (blood) rage?

You should also offer the Bottle' O Mist for this new Ravenloft expansion and barking spider pet companion, or a squeeky frog like this one:

Plus sparkly Dhampir option.. ✨

Since it would be probably undead or undead-friendly race, I would like it to have +2 int and/or +2 wis and same stats in the racial tree. Make it synergize with Pale masters and dark apostates - that would be great.

Actually this expansion would be a perfect place to release the ‘bottle of mist’ again.

It seems that in 5th edition, dhampirs don't have ability adjustments. They do have a bite attack that heals.
the 2014 5E ruleset all races have ability adjustments. In the 2024 the move the stat adjustments to the backgrounds, I think wikidot has adjusted to match the 2024 ruleset.
Just looked at your link, stat adjustments are in place (+2 to one, +1 to a second) No specific stat specified.

Been looking forward to more linear quests. Can the quests all just be a big open field we show up to again to duke it out again?

Game needs an good Intel based race as I'm so tired of Gnomes for Wizards.
Though if they have Undead characteristics by default, that kinda makes them redundant as Wizards. Not like you're gonna go 41 EK 39 AM or anything.

Here is a Novel Idea: For starting stats allow one stat and only one stat start at 20. Players choice. The enhancement tree would a allow the player to improve and any stat their choice. So I want a strong Undead character I can start with a 20 STR and increase STR in the enhancement tree. Choose any Stat. Then when getting a racial TR the 2nd TR that gives a stat point will be based in you largest base stat at the time of the racial TR. This would solve the "well Crap it is another DEX Race or Char race". "Or man we only have 1 Str race for racial TR's" Allow the player to expand on the best part of this game. The ability customize our character.

It well depends on there being Racial enhancements that truly supports the D&D undead traits. I'm fully expecting the Dhampir to be considered hybrid-undead, receiving partial healing from both negative and positive sources. While still having the full penalties of being undead, such as taking damage from light. Now if our past history is any indication, the Dev's will create a mishmash of abilities that's not particularly useful to being undead. While focusing strictly on preexisting (cheesy) hybrid abilities that make the Dhampir not particularly good for anything players need / want. Except for making the entire player base grind through yet another useless racial life just to be able to keep their racial bonus.

But to answer your question... "If" Dhampir were considered fully undead, it would be entirely plausible go to 41 / 39. Possibly in some situations this would be preferable, especially should the Race provide both Racial and Enhancement Intelligence bonuses equal to or better than Gnome. However that's me just wishing in one hand, with the full expectation that the Dev's will take a HUGE shyte in the other.

I want Dhampir to need to burn a feat for armor no matter what class they start as unless they want to not wear armor and get half healing Amp to start.
Because they are undead, they can be immune to poisons and disease, but not really.
Also, if you find time make it where they get special "their race only" armor, but don't include it most of the good set bonuses.
Also because they are undead, they should not feel fatigue or exhaustion.

Unless your a new player... Poisons and diseases aren't really a threat to anyone, regardless of build. So your point sir is moot!
