We destroyed the Codex in Epic Shroud - that should have been the last mention of Codex Pages.
Destroying the Codex is what caused the current part of the storyline, as Vecna states in one of the scrolls in the Isle of Dread explorer zone, the release of so much arcane energy blew a hole in the planar bubble that surrounded Eberron and it's micro-multiverse and caught his attention. Since then we've been putting the Codex back together so it can be safely stored by the Gatekeepers, though not before Morgrave University get to study it, which leads us to the upcoming expansion where I presume the storyline will be concluded.

Yeah, but geez its been Years in real life we have been dealing with it. Even in EveningStar and the High Road.
The Nether Scrolls are 2 identical sets of 50 scrolls detailing vast secrets of magic, nothing at all to do with the Codex of Infinite Planes. They are properly called the Golden Skins of the World Serpent and were created by an ancient reptilian race called the Sarrukh, who are the progenitors of the Yuan-ti, Lizardfolk, Nagas and others. Thousands of years after they were created they were found by a primitive human named Nether who used the knowledge in them to catapult his primitive human people forwards in knowledge and they became the Empire of Netheril.

I am playing a pen and paper game and that has been a major part of history we just figured out as players. Good stuff! I understand that but it is so similar. I didn't have to drag in the nether scrolls and not mentioned it. Dang it's just another piece of paper at the end of a quest that we have to similar theme blah :D

That was the nether scrolls, totally different scraps of paper with unimaginable power. ;)

We have had codex pages since ToEE, update 25 in 2015 though
Just another piece of paper, that's what I am trying to say :D

Yes. In both cases they are just macGuffins. As Comfy points out we are learning more about them in this thread than conveyed in the games because their meaning in the game is not really important outside of "something evil wants them".

I agree that we should move away from it for a while. There are a few other stories I would like to see continued:

- Doaam: I'd like to see us take the fight to them. We start an invasion to their continent. First set of quests would be a scouting mission, followed by some gorilla warfare type missions (destroy weapons depot, assassinate key figures, etc), all ending in a new raid where we launch a full out raid.
- Sharn: Lets pursue The Fallen! I want to know who hired them, how did they get tied to the devils, and what in the world is behind that big door in project nemesis!!!

- Savarath: Speaking of the devils, I think its about time we repay them a visit. Sure, we bested Horoth in the Tower, but that just shifted power. We need to finish this fight once and for all

There are so many open ends to quest lines, it would be nice to finish of a bunch of them. New raids, new lands (Droaam would be amazing to visit!), new monsters! LETS GO!

It's been so overdone, We are having Vecna upcoming how come we couldn't be looking for the hand of Vecna? There is so many artifacts in DnD, The Rod of seven Parts maybe? The list is endless. Oh yeah we have been looking for a Codex page for years.......Its Boring!
I like the Codex… but I also like other stuff. I agree and I’d like a break from Codex plot for a bit after the Vecna mini expansion

It's been used as a plot hook in so many adventure packs now, I'm ready to be done with it.

It's tie-in to Feywild and Saltmarsh especially just felt like an afterthought.

To my mind Droaam is the biggest unresolved cliffhanger in DDO. The whole invasion was a diversion, engineered to distract the vast population of adventurers in Stormreach and the Coin Lords forces and focus their attention on defending the city from multiple threats (the army beseiging it, the naval blockade, the tunnellers etc) while the real purpose of the expedition was to go to the temple ruins, uncover them and conduct that ritual. The temple site was close enough to Stormreach that their excavations and activity there would have been discovered before they were done so the distraction was needed. We know it's close to the city as we are able to go there via the tunnel they built, which is only a few miles long. If they had conquered Stormreach then that would be a bonus, but that was very much a secondary objective. The Sisters of Sora Kell were willing to expend a whole army, plus the fleet to transport it to Xen'drik and all the resources to supply it, not to mention all the veteran commanders and officers that led it, all for the sake of conducting that ritual in that place at that time. Why?

The ritual involved human sacrifice and we know this as when we reach the ritual site we note that the bones are human and are a new addition as humans didn't exist on Xen'drik back when the temple was built. Droaam is a monster nation mostly surrounded by human nations, so whatever it was they did likely bodes ill for their neighbours back on Khorvaire, which includes the Kingdom of Breland, of which Sharn is a part. And we have no way of knowing what it was they did as "all the officers who knew about the mission are dead, that'll do just fine" as the hag states as she departs at the end of the Siegebreaker quest.

We need another pack to follow this storyline with us heading to Droaam to both stop whatever plan they have in motion and get some payback for them attacing our city. Stormreach after all is ruled by the Coin Lords who either are retired pirates (Yorrick Amanatu) or are descended from them. Not the type to take such an act lightly and they both have a lot of money (hence the name of their group) and a huge number of well armed adventurers at their disposal, that's like having a whole army of spec-ops units!

Also with another pack added on it'd make a neat new saga to add to the game!

IMO the pages of the codex being scattered all over allowed the devs to have a reasonable excuse to fold in quite a bit of non-eberron content that people have requested over the years.

Could we be done with the codex pages and still get content from outside the three major game universes currently linked together? yeah, maybe. I guess Spelljammer could be used to interface other game setting but it feels - forced, (not that the codex pages didn't mind you)

If I remember Eberron lore correctly, there were almost no links between Eberron and the rest of the Prime Material planes. Lolth, Ravenloft and the codex broke that open. Only the Codex storyline leaves access open, the others are mostly dead ends.
