Can we please get some clarity about attack speed and BAB?

There is some very dated info on the wiki about attack speed and its relation to base attack bonus.

On a melee, I am noticing zero difference between a BAB of 24 and a BAB of 25, despite the wiki saying "For melee weapons, attack speed increases at BAB 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25."

So either this info is dated, or it's using my "real" BAB (21) for attack speed instead of my modified version.

In any case - there is no mention in-game of BAB having any impact on melee attack speed, and it seems to have no effect on the "melee attack speed bonus" stat on our character sheet.

The whole reason I'm in Divine Crusader mantle is to gain max BAB for attack speed, but if this has zero effect, I would like to know what the updated info should be.

This is a very good question. I have wondered the same thing before. It would be nice if a dev would respond and clarify this. You would think bab would have an impact on melee to hit and attack speed, but I have heard other people say that they're not going to worry about losing 1 bab in a melee due to mixing classes, so apparently it doesnt have much impact? 1 more bab might give you a little more prr but I dont know how much..

I'd like this clarified as well... I've had this lingering in the back of my mind for a couple of weeks. Thanks for bringing it up.

I decided to test it and record the difference between 24 BAB and 25 BAB side-by-side.

There actually may indeed be a slight difference. Notice how they start off relatively in-sync, but towards the end they are out-of-sync and the right is ahead.

I think it is very important for this kind of stuff to be properly communicated to the player so we aren't left guessing.

Also tbh BAB is just too important for weapon users to be compromising when they decide to splash anything with an imperfect progression. I hope they add a tiny bit of BAB to the Legendary level progression, at least, to even the playing field.
