This might get whales to spend again but t certainly will have no impact on the numerous casual people they lost from the repeater nerf, some are gone never to come back and others hard swear to not give money back for the fun that was stripped from the only playstyle that they enjoyed. Of course there are others like me who will find other ways to have fun in the game, but even I a person who loved cosmetics and bought coffers ill not be spending another penny because of the repeater nerf. Will play for fun until the game dies or a better game comes along.
You better remember what you said. "Bad habits" die hard. Of course, I am not saying "playing DDO" is a bad habit, its a hobby.

At least anecdotally, most players I know SAY they cancelled and aren’t spending money.

And then a loot weekend hit and I saw multiple people buy points for rerolls. It is what it is. They will do what they want with their money.

My point is that the doom that we feel is not felt by SSG because they can pull some levers and immediately draw more income.

If they wanted to right now they could release +9 tomes and they would get a huge influx of cash over the next few months.
Yeah, its hard to stop someone when they're in a habit to do re-rolls when its a "loot bonus" weekend.
Its human nature.

If Cormyr was in response to lag, it would have been introduced LONG BEFORE giving it to LoTRO
SSG requires permission from EG7 for anything that has the potential to be expensive. For example they were planning on a remaster of LOTRO and EG7 deemed it too expensive and cancelled it.

Beyond that word from the devs is that they only just recently (ie in the past year) made or acquired the tooling they needed to analyze the servers and determine the sources of major problems. While they might have suspected 32-bit was a problem they likely didn't know it was one of the biggest.

Ironic, seeing as lag has gone from 'normal' levels of very bad to virtually unplayable in the same time frame. I wonder if their analysis tools are contributing to the lag now...

It's not consistently bad for everyone. I've had almost no major incidents on either Khyber or Cormyr. I have occasional (once an hour at most) periods of a few seconds of lag and that's it. I doubt the diagnostic tooling is contributing that much but either way it's necessary to make improvements so there's no point in worrying about it.

Yes, there are a million threads about cancelling.

I am leaving:
1. MD loot and mechanisms
2. lag (which i dont really have but its ridiculous it is an issue for others)
3. new server/hardware shows total developer/test fail. what am i paying for if the devs are unable to clear up years long issues?
4. disconnect between (developers) and player base
5. continuous list of attempts to remedy lag that have resulted in significant decrease in capability or failed in compromise for the attempt
6. endless efforts to drain BIG money from players
7. TR cache/banking/bank space ($$$$ and its never enough. i should never need several alts just for banks..........)
8. lack of understanding on developers part that hey! maybe not everything has to be created equal! are all having fun? then just accept there will always be imbalance and stop massive game wide nerfs to address edge cases.

Back to city of heroes, this was a giant waste of 2 years.

1.) Don't completely disconnect. Linger here for a bit. Maybe get on occassionally.

2.) I'm giving them through end of 2025. It should be plenty of time to fix things. We'll see.

3.) "Pay to be a beta tester" Very funny. :p

Depends what you play I suppose. I don't lag too much when running quests solo, but raids have been complete slide shows for months and were never good even before that. So whatever changes those diagnostic tools allowed them to make has had a negative impact on raiding. The repeater change seemingly did nothing as well...

Then why the hell buy an xpac if im supposed to use sharn gear forever?
For me I like to try to collect everything. If you read the signature line of my posts you can see what it currently takes for my hobby of collecting. (Please note: It is collecting not hoarding, I have a system (mostly).)

No i was spending before it became uninstall levels of awful this year

I don't know anyone willing to give them money now they burned all the bridges they can
You've been "uninstall levels of awful" for a long time. (yes I noticed)

And you just said you bought ultimate MD for tome.

So you spent 130$ on an "uninstall levels of awful" game

Why do you spend 2 AAA games worth of money on something you consider awful game is beyond me

If they're haggling, there's so much more... Fiber-optic vs Copper, for example. Fiber is so much faster.. Forget the code, we have no idea about their hardware.. and then there's the end-user hardware/OS bs. How much does any of this impact lag issues?

EG7: https://www.enadglobal7.com/ ?
*"EG7 is operationally a solid cash-generative business. Operating cash flow over the LTM (Q2 2024) amounted to SEK 176 million."?

I'm good with Daily Gold Rolls but they should be for "life" at this point.

Only real issue i have is the absoultely terrible drop rates for useable gear. Still cant get that (*&*&))*& faceplate to drop. It shud not take a year to get decentely geared. ONLY in this game. Sux that they nerfed my arti, but its not my main.

Play the Saltmarsh expansion; or Ravenloft; or Sharn; or . . .

Unfortunately they "balance" many drop rates based on folk who run multiple toons to ransack and not folk who run a quest a night X1-4 nights or less.
