Cannith craftin questions

Hello,

Recently returned to the game (four years away).

I made a disposable character i need a melee weapon for.

So I have picked up a weapon from the auction house with a couple of augment slots (red and colorless).

1) What can I craft for level 5ish?

2) How does slotting a ruby ml4 augment affect my cannith crafting?

I.e can I craft say a holy burst light pick of something and slot the augment slots with ml 4 augments or will the minimum level get pushed up?

What's a an example of a good general, low level crafted weapon?

Thank you in advance

Augments do not impact crafting other than the minimum level, it doesn't add levels it just sets the minimum. I keep items with augment slots as blanks for crafting. Eventually you can just hang on to the double slotted items. You can craft anything for level although I suggest higher level items because you will need collectables and it is just not worth using them for low level gear. Your biggest challenge at first is getting crafting experience, use success boosters and XP boosts. You can get to a level to make anything you need in an hour or so. The restricting thing is having enough essences you will need 60,000 or so. That is costly, the Shard exchange typically runs about 60 AS for 10,000 essences.

Don't do anything until you read up on it

I have stacks of collectibles and have high enough crafting level to craft anything. I stockpiled enough stuff that I don't need to worry about saving stuff for higher levels.

What would be a good combo to craft at this level?

Cheers

The first suffix I try to get on my lowbie weapons is Unnatural Bane. Lot of bang for the buck in that one.

Prefix, I go for either Sonic or Electric. Not much resist those at low levels.

Do not put Keen on anything slotted. I'm not convinced the evil Keen bug has ever been fully squashed.

Cool, thank you people.

I'll probably make a good and slash and fill the augment with a damage.

Appreciate it.

I have a question to.
Is it still worth today to craft in Cannith?. Despite i have no idea how this work ,i have always the feeling when i wear in all slot for example level 5 Feywild gear ,i cant craft something that is better.
Is it possible to craft level 5 gear in every slot that is better than Feywild gear?
Same goes to full level 3 Saltmarsh gear vs full crafted level 3 gear etc etc.

Cannith Crafting is best at level 10+, when you can use the 3rd slot for insightful stats.

It can be very strong, because you can avoid any "wasted" effects in your gear that your build doesn't need, and can max out the stats you do need at every major breakpoint (10, 13, 18, 23, generally). If you plan carefully, you can also get some artifact set bonuses as well.

As a long-time vet, I have the mats for doing this just laying around. I probably wouldn't want to farm for them if I didn't already have them.

I use it to fill out things that I am not getting from sets.

re augments: Highest ML is what counts. So if you put an ML 4 in, then your weapon will be, at minimum, ML 4. Augments last through (re-)blanking and (re-)crafting.

btw - for the colorless, I like to put in a secondary attribute Diamond - Dex (if typically a Str build) or Str if typically a Dex/Int/etc build. Altho' only +3 (+4 would usually be better), it always seems to be useful.

re crafting: Go with ML 4 - you get nothing more until ML 9 (and waiting until ML 10 is pro'ly best for the potential of an added Insightful effect, altho' a Barovian weapon (Ravenloft) is proly(?) your best bet by then).

See this, very good stuff: https://forums-old.ddo.com/forums/s...ecipes-redux?p=5925371&viewfull=1#post5925371

(Note that this was written before 2-slot blanks, and metal+slot blanks were possible, so adjust accordingly)

dual augmented weapon crafted with force/light/good and bludgeoning/piercing/slashing slotted with 2 red elemental damage augments for the win. Add on vampirism in the extra CC slot at lv 10+.

Craftable trinket with 2 spellpower enchantments (and 1 Insightful at lv 10+).
