Cannith Crafting Secrets: What’s Still Worth Making?

I’ve been getting back into Cannith Crafting lately and started wondering about all the smart little gear choices people make that don’t get enough attention. Not the usual meta setups, but the clever stuff that quietly makes life easier.

I’m putting together a “Clever Crafter’s List” of items worth making at different level ranges.

Things like:
  • Gear that’s surprisingly strong for its level
  • Craft combos that fix awkward stat or resistance gaps
  • Odd items that most people forget about but end up saving the day
Basically, the crafts that make you feel clever for remembering to make them. What’s on your list of hidden gems?

My tank uses a ring slot for swappable absorption.

Blindness ward True Seeing goggles ML 1 dual slotted with Master's Gift and whatever.
I just use a single colorless goggles for that as dual slot are more useful to me later. At level 1 that other slot really is w/e.

It becomes ML1 when you apply the ML1 shard.
I need to try that. Also I wanted to ask, does the same apply to the facet of many things? If I apply a min level 1 shard does it become ML1?
And finally we have the mysterious rung I think.

Thanks

I also do the trapping ones, the true sight and blindness immunity. I use goggles or trinkets.
I also tried an ml1 regeneration ring but it seems it is to slow to save you from bleeding 😑.

I make also skill items, like helmets with Diplo, intimidate, bluff. I swap these items when I need a skill check.

I have a ring with under water action and swim for high level swimming. I think it it's rather high ml the ring. I use it at crucible for example.

I often end up not having decent gloves, so I make alacrity, tendon slice, armor piercing, double... And what I miss on gloves.

I have made some weapons for different occasions/toons.

I do also rings of absorb/resist for quests that an elemental damage is dominant.

Boots of feather falling, +jump, +augment for my ml 1 boots. I did those a long time ago and I still use. Even after I got keep cloak I kept the boots for feather falling. It is a swapping item with expedition retreat. I used to keep the until ml 8-10 but now I have the Chronoscope boots, so I swap them to get the set bonus.

Take Gems of Many Facets from Chrono and craft any needed skills at the level you want them at. For Crucible and other locations I have Bluff, Diplomacy and Intimidate. I craft each one like as an example of bluff (lv 15 Prefix: Bluff +16, Suffix: Charisma 8, Extra Slot: Insightful Bluff +8). As a note make sure you put the base skill in first since if you are not careful the ability can go in either the prefix or suffix slot. I had someone make that mistake and had to redo the entire process.

I used some blueshine weapons to craft Holy of Bludgeon for a friend to use as Rust Monster and Ooze beaters. If I couldn't find a blueshine blank I would craft Holy(Good) of Everbright. Niche weapons are something the Cannith Crafting can be good for. Ghost Touch of Incorporeal Bane* for incorporeal undead and Reapers is another example. Of course there are better options, but these are good items until better weapons/gear are farmed.

*Edited after I wrote the incorrect recipe a little earlier

Thankfully, I've been collecting dual slot gear since they came out. I have a bank toon for each category (Armor/Weapon/Shields/Clothing/Jewelry). Comes in very handy for filling a slot here or there, or even gearing a toon with only CC gear.

Just to add: I have search/trapping gear for ML 10 and 20. On the helm slot, I put underwater action as well as the search stuff so it is one less thing in my inventory.

There is a case to be made to craft sonic absorption on a swappable at cap.

I have a dual slotted kukri with usual stuff at level 16.

GoMF at 20 with missing stuff in that gear set.

If you really want to get kitted out, curse a bunch of things first (like a dual slot ring) and then craft on thr best one. Sell the rest on the AH; who knows, maybe someone wants that Abjuration focus.

Having custom trinkets (GoMF are easy to get) to give a huge boost to a particular skill is nice, like Search + Int + Insightful Search (+38 on ilvl 32)

Specific alt weapons, like Blueshine Oozebane or an Adamantine Constructbane for low levels before you can get Sharn weapons.

Utility stuff is handy so you don't have to carry a bunch of pieces or buy augments, like boots of Jump and Featherfall, GoMF of true sight and water breathing, etc.

One of my absolute needs is my Goggles with True Seeing and Water Breathing at min lv 1 as a swap item/ if needed. I also have a set for lv 4 with featherfall augment in it.
