Cannith Crafting Secrets: What’s Still Worth Making?

My 400 crafter is basically in retirement because Cannith Crafting still not updated to 34.

Leveling one on each server other than that but no expectation SSG will actually ever update Cannith Crafting because it interferes with named item relevancy at a time when named items just don't drop unless they're in old content. I mean they drop but odds on getting what you want are either next to nothing or maybe 1% if you spend gobs of shards.

I'm a noobie, and even I can tell that random items have near 0 relevancy. With the exception of a few properties the rest is really just dissolve dissolve...
There are plenty of ways for them to improve random items, but I don't think they will ever do it.
Cannith crafting items, while expensive to make at least you control what to put, the ML and you get a good value (scaling) out of them.
Even if sub-par to named Cannith crafting is useful.
@SSG we want more cannith crafting!!!

ML1:

Goggles of True Sight and Persuasion with a colorless augment slot that contains Master's Gift. I wear these until level 13 when I swap to Myth Drannor Gear. The True Sight basically allows you to discover every secret door so you don't have to stop and search to get the hidden door bonus in quests. Just run by them and they auto-discover secret doors. Persuasion increases your UMD, so you can use Cure scrolls for self-healing. It's better than paying for DDO Store healing potions.

Robe of Invulnerability and Fearsome. I wear it until level 6ish no matter what build I'm running. That Invulnerability is absolutely amazing damage reduction so you don't have to use healing pots in most quests. The Fearsome scares off mobs when they hit you, which will reduce your incoming damage.

I've used both of those for seven years.

ML20:

Gem of Many Facets. I use this for every build. For melee/ranged it's Doublestrike/Doubleshot, CON 9, INS PRR 11 with Raven's Sight and Windlasher set-bonuses which you can reroll for free. For nukers, it's Perform 17, Spell Focus 3, INS Spellsight 8 (no set bonus).

I have the ML1 goggles of true seeing/persuasion.

I use trapping gear ML 10 with insightful search and insightful disable (goggles and gloves swap). I use them for ML 20.

I have some crafted weapons too.

When the Deck came out I started cursing rings with double slots with the idea of getting that perfect curse. It did not happen (I thought about making a ML20 ring with major combatant like Zavinia’s earlier, then Con/Ins Con/devotion etc.

Then I cursed the heck out of Slavers neck blanks for ML28 or whatever, and got major Dex finally for my assassin.

It might be worth cursing rings again and just sticking the blanks in the ASAH if you are not happy with it but it is a good curse. (I tried this and no one bit). With 80+ stats for Threats opt, I was thinking of looking into the ring crafted approach again—have a swap with INT/Insightful INT, INT curse etc and two augments (exceptional and something else) but named items would be easier.

Take Gems of Many Facets from Chrono and craft any needed skills at the level you want them at. For Crucible and other locations I have Bluff, Diplomacy and Intimidate. I craft each one like as an example of bluff (lv 15 Prefix: Bluff +16, Suffix: Charisma 8, Extra Slot: Insightful Bluff +8). As a note make sure you put the base skill in first since if you are not careful the ability can go in either the prefix or suffix slot. I had someone make that mistake and had to redo the entire process.
Wait, the Gems of Many Facets are craftable??

They are never updating Cannity Crafting for the obvious reasons. It's fyscally irresponsable...

the lack of level 34 crafting isn't that big an issue for me.

Of 10 alts only 2 have a single piece of crafted level 32 equipment to fill holes in there gear set.
1) Corrosion Acid Lore Insightful Charisma ring ( 2 Augment slots ) for my warlock tank.
2) Deadly Seeker Insightful Wisdom goggles ( 2 Augment slots ) for my wolf.
Looking at it. It appears that the common theme of end gear crafting is the insightful stat.
Level 34 crafting would only marginally increase the power of these characters.

But by far the majority of my crafting is epic gear. There is a large gap between level 15 and 28 of decent gear. Vecna has some but it's position so close to the heroic cap has limited my running of it. Borderlands has some good 21s but that still leaves a lot of slots to fill. Particularly common are level 22 2 slot festive augment crafted items.

And there are a few heroic items. One augment slot crafted goggles are common due to a lack of non-spellcaster goggle named gear.

I don't craft anything for high levels (except maybe legendary gem of many facetts). I use cannith crafting a lot for low levels, before named items and sets become prevailent.

I have to disagree on 15-28 lack of items, with the old epics there is incredible choice and versatility at 20-28 specifically. I use kundarak+salty+abisai on attackers and elders+salty+abisai (and feywild on my bard, too!) on casters. I do craft epic gem of many facets for all those, though.

Fun thing about the eGoMF, rerolling the stats creates a new item. This means that any curse card you apply to it will be removed without the need for the uber rare curse cleanser.

If you're very patient with your rerolls, you can come up with the perfect two set bonuses and also a good curse.

So I have an Elder/Abishai Gem with Curse of Uncontrollable Energy and +2% spell crit damage for all my caster builds.
I have a Raven Eye/Abishai Gem with Curse of Divine Fortune for Ranged/Melee builds. That curse is a LITTLE bit better on a weapon, but offers comprehensive bonuses on a trinket as well.

I craft it with Fire Absorb 27, Parrying 4, and Insightful Fortification 55 (helpful, because all my level 20 gearsets carry over level 15 Sharn sets including armors, so by themselves they aren't enough fortification, and the GoMF takes care of that).

It's quite lovely.

Ok so you get the right combo then curse—that becomes random, no? So how does that become an effective way of getting the ideal curse and set bonus? Won’t one of these get erased if you do a new of the other?

You have to roll the right curse and the right sets at the same time

That is 1/9 × 1/13 x 1/200.
Goodluck with that.

That's where the patience comes in. You have to roll the right combo, then curse it and hope it comes out with something good and not +2 Abjuration DCs.

Getting my caster Gem with the spell crit curse took a couple of hours. I was super bored that day.

Don't try this on a legendary Gem, unless you truly hate yourself.
