"Hounds will be active." - That's me out. I am a carer and can be called away at any time and so dungeons with respawns are no go areas for me.

Good luck to everyone who plays and I hope you have fun.
No, don't worry, hounds are what Positive Thinking would like to have, but this season doesn't work like that. If you have to stay afk or pike, take off your lantern (leave it in your inventory) and the mist stalkers won't appear.

This season is much more considerate of people who have lives outside of ddo.

This 100%. whatever criticisms there are (mostly pacing and grind), this isn't one. We have the power and control of difficulty and challenge.

There are trivial grinds, there's just flowersniffing and getting them steadily as you level, there's a bunch in between, and pause any time.

Yeah, my main complaints are the Lantern of Order bug, the fact that the grind feels really slow during normal questing (which forces you to do specific farming on the cap in short quests), and the fact that Head of the Beast on heroics is excessively strong for first lifers without PLs or gear (you can tell it was designed for live servers).

But the overall mechanics of the event are really good because it gives players a choice: if they want to play perdeath or not, if they want the mist to spawn or not (just take off your lantern if you don't want them to spawn), and it's an event with lore and interesting monsters. The devs listened to the complaints with the hounds and acted. Well done, devs.

On the flip side, you could also look at it as, some people were lured into subbing thinking that VIPs were only ever going to be on that server, thinking that the only way to get 64 bit as a non-VIP would be to wait til they open a 2nd 64 bitter. This was never said outright, but it was the vibe that SSG put out. "Cormyr will be VIP only" would have been interpreted exactly as it sounds.
Exactly. People like to talk about bait and switch when it comes to mechanics and drop rates, but this is as close as they've come to an actual bait and switch. Cormyr was repeatedly sold to us as a VIP only server and I started playing on it with that assumption. When they announced this I immediately lost all motivation to stay on the server. Khyber and the eventual free 64-bit servers are good enough.

On the bright side the developers just saved me another $30 USD because my VIP ends Feb 5th which wouldn't have been long enough to have finished the lanterns on Cormyr, but now I can finish them without paying another cent for their server.

"Hounds will be active."
Ignore that individual. No, really, just put them on ignore. They're constantly spouting nonsense. There are no hounds.

Wonder what the catch-up changes are?
A percentage boost to lantern progression.

As all the intelligent people can see when they read my earlier post, the reference to the hounds was about if they created an actual real hardcore server(not cormyr) the hounds would be on the list of things needed on that server to make it hardcore.

After reading the previous post suggesting that i was to be ignored because that someone lacks the ability to read a post correctly, i showed my boyfriend the post.

He said just ignore that person, we played with that person on mondays he said and they go about spouting how the proper way to play the game in groups because it is the only way they can be successful, when really its the only way they(the poster above) can complete content at high reaper skulls.

My boyfriend said to tell her to keep playing with average streamers(cars have these to hold the wheels - riddle for the name of the streamer) playing the game like it is everquest.

Its a game folks no need to listen to players saying ignore when some one more talented comes along. I mean nobody ignore Dom, simply acknowledge he is the greatest player in the game.

Fear not good travelers. We'll still have our personal storage houses in which we can lock ourselves away from the itinerant ruffians.

I think ill pass, if you wanted to load test the server it should have been done from the start. allowing me to participate for a few weeks in an event that should have been open to all players . no thanks not only does it take me 3 times as long to level form the inability to open elite I would graciously be given access disregarding my premium player status.

Dungeons & Dragons Online is celebrating the new year on its 64-bit server Cormyr! Starting January 22nd through April 15th Cormyr is open to all accounts – no VIP required!

https://www.ddo.com/news/ddo-cormyr-free-access

Im not "coming at you" but dont you think as a manager its only fair those of us already on the server receive some kind of compensation be elixirs or lantern XP pots BEFORE the public is welcomed in with open arms as we were led to believe it was VIP only and a benifit of being said VIP.
VIP are the ones monitizing the game , not the FTP

Thanks

Premium accounts are not FTP you will find out just how valuable they are when your looking for more players as the game dies.

You don't need to store anything. When you stop using the cosmetic, you destroy it and claim it again when you want to use it again.
As far as I know, this only works with expansion cosmetics from the last 4 expansions. A lof of us have cosmetics from previous expansions, plus cosmetics from events, plus a random 20+ from daily rolls that accumulate too.
