Chill of Ravenloft Loot Overview

Maybe what other posters had said. Start out with a Level 1 item and allow it to upgrade with you(maybe farming certain ingredients in dungeon)
then slowly it can get upgraded with leveling. Or turning it in for an upgraded version with a little extra to it.
Some of the events have this already as a low level item that can be upgraded to higher levels with ingredients from farming quests.

Last part sounds like a vote for elements of the Vecna system(and a couple others). No complaints (other than wishing the googles had some further "enhancement options"). Very much along the vein of what I'd be pressing for.

Leveling equipment upgrades (&hirlings) with you also a solid consideration.

if the "rare loot" ship has salied already and there is no way for it to come back, at least please try to put items that's very possible that are gonna be used toghether in different quests. I dread to think that, if i ever get an artblade, i will have to keep running portal to below for the armor (and viceversa). This fact definetly ruins the "you got something special" feeling you say you want to create. Talk about burnout...

It's most unfortunate that you are choosing to take the route of obfuscation, and still not getting to the specific issues which have been brought up several times already- in just this thread alone. 😔

We're all aware that- by the time something makes it to Lamannia: it's often set in stone (it shouldn't be). We need the details. We need the numbers. We also need Myth Drannor readjusted. Now, would be great. Especially since it is on sale, and many people have, thus far, rightfully abstained.

And please change your collective approach going forward. What happened to honesty, and decency, in the world? Instead of fostering an "us vs them" situation, between the players & devs- you have the opportunity to do the right thing, for a change.

People are more invested in relationships that are healthy.

Those at SSG,
Must put aside the alienation
Get on with the fascination
The real relation

The underlying theme...

So please: be upfront with us, so that we can move on to the fun stuff. ;)
Agreed. The men who hold high places must be the ones who start!

Greetings!

We have been reading your feedback about our upcoming expansion The Chill of Ravenloft, and your desire to learn more about the loot system it will contain, including info about the relative rarity of the loot. So today we wanted to map out how treasure will work in Chill of Ravenloft, especially as compared to previous content and Expansions:

With Chill of Ravenloft players will be able to create weapons using components they'll find for the Viktranium crafting system in Lamordia. This will have similarities to what players experienced on the Isle of Dread, where components are gathered from questing. Certain key components, which are used to make the more powerful effects, are obtained either by raiding or by defeating rare Landscape encounters. We are aiming for the access to ingredients to be similar to our Isle of Dread expansion.

There will additionally be rare items to hunt for, which will provide fewer static effects but increased flexibility in the form of more Lamordia-specific Augment Slots. The Lamordia Augments come from crafting them, similar to Dino Bone augments. We're tuning the drop rates of those to be more generous than the recent updates' rares have been. Myth Drannor was too rare, we adjusted it during update 71.2, increasing rates and also being mindful of whether a rare drop was gated behind the rarity of the encounter it was attached to. With Chill of Ravenloft, we're increasing the rare drop rates from what they were in update 71.2.

When it comes to rare treasure, the ultimate goal is that we want obtaining a rare drop to feel meaningful and not rote -- that when someone gets one, it feels special. With that said, we also don't want it to feel insurmountable, so we continue to tune the rates so that we can hit that sweet spot of special-but-not-impossible. We're expecting players to be able to try things out in the next Lamannia preview in a couple weeks. We've been considering your feedback and assessing the impacts of the treasure rates carefully for several months, and we encourage you to provide feedback on the latest rendition of the expansion's loot system during the upcoming Lamannia preview.

Thanks for playing, and we'll see you in game!
Release the drop chances then. Gives the rare item chances on both MD and this expansion.

MD's rare loot is still too rare so if that's the line going into this new expansion, it's just gonna suck

I do not clear the MD because the exp was completely Undertuned. I have the $120.00 expansion. Its unfortunate it was so poorly tuned exp wise, and had too many rare drops.

THe Loot having rares was just the killer. Thats basically why I will sit on the fence on the next expansion. I can buy the race if I need to. Better then springing 120 for a top tier product lacking a top tier reward.

Yes! An expansion should not have lower xp/min (accounting for travelling times as well) than old quests.

MD is worse than gianthold (though a welcome variation) and Saltmarsh heroic is even terrible compared to catacombs etc.

You know what I would like to see? A way for us to crunch unwanted nameds for runes/tickets and then use those tickets to buy our named loot and even rares.

I loved the rune system on raids. I loved the token system on sands.

I HATED rare loot on md.
Absolutely, RNG gear , even non rares should have a "bad luck protection". Makes no sense that raid gear is guaranteed via runes after enough runs, but quest gear is not.

Either let players put their needs on gear per: Ingredients, cards, collectables or runes/augments or make Random Generated Named gear with the ability to swap out prefix/suffix/effect/augment/solar-lunar gems.

Would save developers from having to "figure out" what stat/enhancements need to be on gear and can free them up to fix:
Quality of Life issues, playability bugs.
New player experience tutorials-island.
Performance enhancements (without removing gameplay menchanics, cough-cough Double-Strike/Shot) = no more offhand extra attacks or range effects.
Single weapon Fighting gets two assassinates (that action took away Two Weapon Fighting offhand Assassinates which should be able to get two more attempts as a TWF build) Casters and Barbarians have their AOE 6 mob instakills still. (That's my gripe and Shadow Dancer's Lobotomy Destiny who Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest).

Fun fact, when MD launched, (legendary and heroic) Helm of the Sun's Wrath also had a bugged crown of summer. Both the Helm of the Warblade and Helm of the Sun's Wrath were bug reported, but only Sun's Wrath got fixed, helm of warblade slipped thru the cracks.

Do you happen to know if the effect on the Warblade Helm is still bugged?

I have been farming for that one for a couple of months for a friend now - and if the effect is bugged its not worth the farm.

Good news! The time you've spent farming an impossible item was not wasted because the item was never going to work in the first place!

The thing is about rare loot, the Dev's are not going to listen to players....

Instead, just don't farm it as It'll show in the metrics. Later the Dev's will likely adjust the rates to compensate.

Yes the time to vote with your wallet was yesterday. Tis why I regret Pre Ordering Myth, and I might skip chills. The extra work needed does not justify the stats gained. When they switched to the updated stats system: based on level rather then individual item. They shot themselves in the foot when it came to rare items. The 3pc-5pc sets are wonderful, and perfectly viable for the long term. Why put in a TON of extra work for a +1 difference that might not change anything? As it stands I mostly will not include Myth Drannor items when I create gear sets for people, and likewise im unlikely to do the same for chills. I don't feel the need to punish someone for playing the game. The way you stop this stuff, is make characters that Use Isle of dread gear or Vecna Unleashed gear and make people question their choices when they realize what you did solo in a week or 2, is going to take them 6 months of grouping.
