Clickies for Cannith Crafting

I think it'd be awesome to be able to add a clicky effect for certain CC items done by actual level 400 crafters (both bound & unbound).

(Yes, I have some really old stuff in storage)

I can just imagine making a set of Boots of Jumping with a clicky for +30, useable 1/3/5 times/day, 10-minute duration and having as a min level 1 item. Cost dependent on # of uses per day. (The 1/day costs 100 Potions of Jumping +30!)

It is not game-changing and devs can limit it to what they feel is appropriate. If we can scroll-cast it off of common scrolls, why not make it a clickie? The advantage of a clickie is that one can have weapons equipped, so we could make weapon-buffing clickies.

What would folks create? Shield, jump (for low levels anyway), Master’s touch (very useful for kukris), blur, cure serious wounds—maybe a high level crafter and some rare ingredient could make stronger stuff.

So what about masterful/wondrous, or mystic effects crafting? Could those be a thing for crafters too? Maybe just @ super high crafting levels?

I'd love to see to be able to make a clicky from rare scrolls like Holy Aura etc...or not.
On the other hand I am not sure that allowing this clicky mode will be good for the game. Sure it makes soloing easier but at the same time it can easily exclude other classes from your gameplay because you simply will have a clicky for everything. A jump clicky would be super useful, or swim for sure.

I'd like to see this added too, but I cannot see any good reason why it should be restricted to capped crafters.
Something else for people to grind for, when they hit the cap. Sort of the whole apprentice - journeyman - artisan - master. I'd love to see capped crafters be able to install weapon effects such as vorpal, shattermantle, banishing etc. We've always been able to find these effects at various levels from ML1 over the years.

I doubt people are going to change their gaming habits, or who they interact with, because of some clickies. People will solo with or without them.

Grinding how? You haven't suggested more levels be added, or that you would have to do anything more, just that a whole extra type of crafting or two be handed only to people at the cap.

It makes a lot more sense for new recipes to be added as we level, with the best saved for the highest levels. Not no crafting of this type until you've maxed out.

If our existing system worked the way you've suggested it would be an absolute dumpster fire. Why change the paradigm?

It looks very much to me like you're suggesting it be made overly restrictive so you can be one of the very few people who could do it. I've seen this sort of selfish, gatekeeping behaviour towards crafting in another MMO before. I didn't like it then and I don't like it now.

The majority of the community would far better served by a system that was more widely accessible, not one that supports individuals or cartels of people actively making things harder for people coming up the ranks below them. You know, by them advocating for things that help them above anyone else.

This is all nice, but can we start by enabling level 33 and 34 crafting, please?

It looks, to me, like CC is a forgotten and dead mechanic that won't bring them any more money and thus they will never take another look at it. Don't get your hopes up.
As stated before: Severlin said ~ Cannith Crafting update was on their radar but because of Cormyr and bug fixing it has been put on the back burner.

From the context it sounds like the update will include more than just the min level shards.

This suggestion would save me a lot of time and make all my characters significantly more powerful.

It could also invalidate many dozens of named items with such spells, take away a whole class of named items developers can currently create for quests, add a huge amount of power creep to the game, and make many quests significantly easier by removing limitations currently in place for many character builds at a given level.

When every character has easy access to something, it further limits the number of levers a quest designer may pull to challenge characters.

As a player...I want it.

If I were an class, equipment, and/or quest designer...I would throw this idea in the trash can and actively work to take away character power.

Here we go... I am going to make a lot of people mad again...

This is a bad idea for the long term health of the game. Power creep has gone way too far. Developers need to take a strong stand against power creep and stop throwing away their levers for offering challenge.

Haha! What am I doing? I will get hurt the most if power is pulled back! Oh well.
