Collectables question

I have a question.

Putting aside literally anythang to do with cannith crafting, what do you use/look for collectables for?

Personally i havent looked at these for years and so i have some red bags that im really tempted to just delete everything from, other than dragonshards.

What do you find useful from them? I literally dont know what they are used for these days. I know most can be turned in but back in the day the rewards were mostly just junk to sell.

Cheers

There are a couple interesting trades. You can also turn them in for RNG disappointment when trying to get skill augments.
Do you do this though? Im basically trying to discern which if any are worth not throwing or giving away

I recently dumped all my relevant collectables trying to get an ML4 Diplo Augment, unfortunately did not get it and was mostly given stat augments. Although I do not use them I do occasionally stock our guild ship chests with healing elixirs and haste/GH potions, etc. Woodblossom Meads were also pretty good.

I won't go into the oodles of particulars, but you should always collect. Why?

Because people are always looking for mats on the Shard Exchange and you can earn shards by selling the collectables. In turn the shards can be used on lots of other stuff.

Buy shared bank crafting storage if you don't have it yet.

It is so easy just to drag your red and green bags over the crafting storage in your bank every time you bank. One stop for a complete dump.

I have huge bags and whatever is bigger than huge (gargantuan?) for both and so I just carry most of the stuff on my main however I could easily get away with the purchasable 30 item bags (House J - Empty Handed) and just continually dump them each time I bank.

I'm pretty sure I bought the best bags available as they became available before shared crafting storage was a thing.

If you do the Demon Sands slayer to 750 each give or take you'll get more than enough ABT to purchase something.

Maybe I should have asked "Which collectibles do you turn in"

I still use these from time to time, mostly on my TR gear. +1 saves can be quite nice at lower levels.

There are a lot of collectibles that I use. I craft mostly for my lower level chars and it's mostly weapons and orbs/shields but occasionally you might need something that the named items don't give and you can spare one or so gearslots for a crafted item.

Things that you get a lot of during the low level quests that are really useful is Page torn from a research notebook. These are the "main" one used for crafting disable device and open lock skill onto items. Really useful for when you only have like 1 oe 2 levels of rogue and limited skill points.

I'd recommend that you check out: http://http://ccplanner.byethost14.com/?i=1 and play around with different items and stuff you can craft. On the top to the right it says which collectibles are used. Then you sell them on AH.

I wouldn't hold my breath getting huge number of shards though but you can deffinately get a little plat that way. However ppl with many chars like me and ppl that TR a lot will get lots of these and know where to farm them so it's all about the price. Too high and you won't sell, too low and it will fly off the shelves and you will have done someone a service but not gotten much for it.

There are plenty of times I have tried to find something I miss so I wouldn't have to farm. Especially sparkling dust. I have a spot but there are so many collectibles that can spawn that it takes forever to farm out 5 (which is used for whatever it was that I used it for).

You should check out Collectable Collectors. Aside from crafting, you can get:
  • augments
  • elixirs of healing (usually better than cure serious pots)
  • cryptmoss suture (effectively cure serious wand at lvl 1 with no umd) the game and wiki lie, self only
  • 1 min haste potions
  • greater heroism potions
  • spore sap (a better cure serious pot)
  • alchemical stat potions
  • fire shield potions
  • crimson nightshade infusion (remove curse + panacea, can target others) the game lies, self only
  • death ward potions
  • restoration potions

Can target others, nice. I thought that wouldn't work anymore since other unbound potions don't either. That can help in LVoD. Sweet.

I was just running off the wiki. After testing, woodblossom mead (just panacea) does work on others, but crimson nightshade (panacea + remove curse) is self only.
