What build would you recommend for 1st Life No Tome No Gear for Solo and Group play in R1-R4?

You do not need to post an exhaustive guide to how to build it. Just the starting attributes and a level by level class, skill, feat and AP breakdown. Extra credit for pointing out key item farms along the way to round out the character.

1-20 should be in the build and if possible 21-32.

The idea is to give a skilled new player an opportunity to build a 1st Lifer to play in the established leveling meta.

“Best character for group play” isn’t something that even makes sense. When you have a group, you can each do something a bit different and support each other. Also, best at whatever role you’re looking to fill at level 5 is very different from best at level 12 and very different at 20 and at 32. And best character for solo play is going to look very different from one person to another based on their play preferences.

The entire premise of the build request is faulty.

So which build would *you* recommend for Solo R1-R4 play as a 1st Lifer with No Tomes and No Gear?

Its a bit outdated in terms of gear and destinies, but this is the build I used on hardcore season 4 to get reaper wings.

Either Blightcaster before Epics/base Druid from 20 onward or Paladin 1-32 or blaster Warlock any time before Legendary content or FvS fire/light/force offensive caster or Alchemist nuker any level or Alchemist inquisitive from 1-19 and Alchemist thrower 20-32 or 2HF Barbarian any time or Sorcerer nuker or ranged Ranger or ranged Ranger/Monk thrower + bow or Artificer repeating crossbow build or a Dwarf Artificer DAxe hand and a half tank or

I probably wouldn’t recommend a DC caster or a character focused on single target melee DPS. Other than that, go nuts.

I also wouldn’t recommend an Iconic for running Reaper quests from base level 1-10.

Blightcaster is one of my choices also.

How would you build it? Just attributes, feats and AP.

I'm looking to get a set of ideas from the community because they will be much superior to my ideas as a single player.

I would recommend a new player learn the quests and not zerg with the TR train. I'd tell them to play a build that they find fun and to experiement with different ideas to learn the mechanics of the game while joining a slower moving newbie friendly guild. Then when they feel comfortable with the game/quests (and have a basic bit of gear and/or an understanding of how to gear) they can move onto something else and there's lots of choices based off what they find fun: FvS, Cleric, DA, Warlock, AoTS, Alch, Paladin, Barb, etc. will all tear thru low skulls in the right hands.

New players aren't going to solo R1-R4 even if they had the best gear. Dom got wings on hardcore because he has encyclopedic knowledge of every quest, including the abilities of every mob. He also farmed out named gear as he leveled. Even in a group, doing R1-R4 while leveling 1-32 as a first life character isn't reasonable for 99.9% of players. If reaper XP is the goal, it's more efficient to level elite to level cap, farm for named gear on elite, then do R4 in a group. That's a winning formula for hardcore, and applies to live servers as well.

Pure Ranged Arti or pure Warlock.

Have a look at Hardcore builds. Those might be viable for R1 and your skills might push it to R4.

Cheers,
Titus.
