Can anyone please confirm what the actual benefit of the 'potion of Irians Light' is? (from night revels)?
Is it:
'25 alchemical bonus to light and alignment spells for 3 minutes' as per in-game tool-tip, or
'25 alchemical bonus to light and alignment spells for 4 minutes' as per DDO wiki, or
'100% bonus to light damage for 1 minute' as per candy-maker dialogue?

As a supplementary question, why do questions like these even exist? Is it, like, an accepted part of the game, that any advertised bonus you can strive for, may or may not act as described? Maybe the text is even generated on a dice roll, who knows!

Just try it and see... buff duration and effects will be shown.

Yep. The text descriptions are pretty much just hints. They're usually fairly close to actual behavior, but sometimes they're grossly misleading. The devs manifestly do not test anything or much care about discrepancies.

Things have gone unchanged for 10 years, become well established in game, and then been suddenly "fixed" with the only explanation being "oh, we never meant it to work that way".

Using this logic, nothing might be described at all.
Or else everything might be described incorrectly, just as a 'gotcha'? HaHa!
Not very helpful at all really.
I don't think this is accepted in any other walk of life, and don't get why it is here really either.
