construct beater

i know no one needs a golf bag of weapons anymore, but if i were to make up a construct beater what would i craft on it? adamantine and greater construct bane? anything else?

i could throw filligrees on something like https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Epic_Periron's_Talon but i don't know if that's necessary. any other good construct beating weapons out there?

Honestly, you could just go with Syranian / Legendary Syranian weaponry

-Adamantine
-Construct bane
-Augment / sentience

It's a pre-made construct beater

Edit: Changed my link to a heavy pick so you can directly compare with Periron's Talon, but there is Syranian weaponry for pretty much all weapon types

Chaos is a possibility if you need a prefix before bane. Helps with maruts, neutral stuff mostly takes it, and some things like Shroud portals are lawful evil (because devils made them, I presume).

Been quite a while since I heard anybody was worried about Marut DR, but it's a maybe. And the pink might remind you you have your metal-beaters on after the fight.

For your main legendary weapon: Get a deconstructor augment.

That is probably best in slot for that red augment slot anyway.

i forgot about deconstructor, just daydreaming at work about what quests i hate (best laid plans?) and quicker ways to get through them

I think maybe in heroics you might notice you need them, or at cap raids. Folks slot Deconstructor as said above (which gives Destruction as well), or look for some other solution.

For heroics, if not dex-based, you can do the Mace of Smiting. Instakill on constructs and is adamantine. https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Mace_of_Smiting.

There are lootgens with smiting but their ML might be too high to be worth it.

I like Force & Sonic, but some are immune to force (e.g. Crateos) and some Crystal type constructs take double damage from sonic (e.g. Refined Cannith Crystal.) However, those crystal type constructs are rarely seen. Cold is just a no-go, IIRC some constructs are immune to cold but none are vulnerable. Fire is bad for some but heals others, elec is bad for some but heals or hastes others. Acid heals clay golems.

Essentially all elemental damage is a poor choice for one type of construct or another.

For over level 28, the correct answer is your main weapon + deconstructor slotted.

For heroic if you must use something specific, mace of smiting is a pretty cheap item off of ah or asah. It drops everywhere with a higher chance on Garamol I think.
