Cordovan indicated they are switching the Kobold's Newest Ringleader from Almonds to Carmel

I heard this was happening the next update on Fridays at 4, but I am a bit confused why?

Currently running all the challenges at 5 over level yields 87 almonds and 78 Carmel.

With the proposed change without any other changes running all the challenges will yield 41 almonds and 124 carmel which is a much bigger imbalance than we currently have.

If they make this change I suggest they increase the almond payout for Shop till you drop significantly. 18 is too few for that challenge.

Because there is currently only 1 quest that gives caramels and 3 quests that give almonds. There is no alternative to run for people who hate the only caramels quest.

There is a problem though after the change where both almonds quests give only a small amount... They should give one of the shorter low reward quests caramels in stead of almonds to even it out.

If there's been no talk about increasing almond rewards in the other two quests, I guess I'm gonna be doing a lot of Kobold's Newest Ringleader tonight.

We have increased the reward rate for Caramel and lowered the Almond reward rate for The Kobold's Newest Ringleader until after our next game update, after which point The Kobold's Newest Ringleader will provide Shadowy Caramel.
It reads like they shifted the reward ratios so the 1 quest gives the caramel values you'd normally see from doing 2 quests; while the other 3 are reduced to give the total almond values of what you'd normally get from 2 quests. So I assume they'll put their reward values back to normal whenever they change the incorrect reward.

Shop til You Drop is the quest giving the wrong ingredients, considering it replaced Haverdashed, which game caramels. As far as I can remember, Kobolds always gave almonds.

Either SSG doesn’t remember their initial screw up or they want to force people to run Shop to get max almonds because it’s the newest quest and you gotta keep those engagement numbers high for new content so SSG’s bosses don’t see that the new stuff the team makes is largely subpar.

Me, personally, I only ran Shop for first time XP, then focused on Kobolds for mats because Shop is subpar, and I’d take Haverdashed back any day of the week.

Alright ty - I am not sure where that came from, but it was much easier to find information when I could just check staff tracker.

We basically did the same thing we did last year for this issue, until a near future game update that corrects it. The reward rate will be standardized back and each ingredient will have two options.
Appreciate the clarification. Would it be possible to confirm what the values will be (or at least are intended to be) after the update?

That's what you said last year...but no change.

Why should I believe SSG will finally make the change THIS time?

Lynnabel would have made this change on the fly, BTW.

Thanks for the clarification, I missed that in the guide.

Your faith in them getting it right is refreshing.

I'm convinced it's gonna be screwed up.

I hate rare loot and I'm not going to defend it in any way.

But this is a temporary event, once a year. Not everyone has the time to farm in-depth. Events should be inclusive and easy to farm.

So, apples and oranges.
