I got mildly bored and ran a trace route. Not that it tells me a whole lot, guessing *.*.GW5.VEG2.ALTER.NET is in Las Vegas and the jump between PA and there doesn't respond. Guessing the 64bit server is colocated at Switch.com's Las Vegas campus, Daybreak is on their client list.

Was the intent to just test performance or also for feedback on the lantern event? I took a new character (Dark Hunter) instead of the higher level character I copied. I did not have any performance issues but did not find the mists to be challenging. I ran elite and got to running Misery's Peak on elite at level 3.

most likely the case as speaking as someone who runs a home network BOD MASS storage rack and a mid tower PC (hope to upgrade at some point but budget it too tight and saving is hard.... but I digress) I wouldn't want to have both my Test servers and my Live service money pot in the same system. too much risk of a screw up on top of a HIGH risk of hoping over to a new partition or Folder/user if its on that same hardware. (yes its EXTREMELY EXTREMELY UNLIKELY but hell look at all the bugs some other games have and tell me it can never happen.... PD2 LITTERALLY has issues were the AI acts like its gone loud and suddenly starts roaming even those its still in stealth {which is when the AI just sits at a designated spot} and bugs out once is blue moon).

IIRC player Data is stored in a separate server box then the game data but I could be wrong I remember something being said about this back when the servers just DIED for about 5 or so days when they were moving locations when Turbine still ran the game.

bit of both also I think it depends on the area also was running R2 boarder lands and got SLAPPED at level 2

Wouldn't you expect to get slapped running a level 1 quest at R2 with a fresh level 2 character and little gear?
One would think but the number of people who got slapped by that medusa during hardcore convinces me that most of them don't actually expect it.

No but I have been told they added niac’s back on the famine reapers in level 1 borderlands, which was removed and reserved for level 2 harbor quests famine reapers. So be careful those borderland reapers can now hit for more than the usual 80 hit points they could previously hit for(they can hit for up to 250 hit points now on Reaper 3).

generally speaking I cruse through Borderlands at lvl 2 no issue even running R3 on live after I TR dropped it down a level to test out the lantern champs and well with the SLOWER attack speed and the added issue of now MUCH lower Damage cause of that it takes longer to kill a mob then it used to. even on HC i'm running Reaper at level (3/4/5 etc.) but Live I generally play more loose with it as I tweak the build to see what's better or worse.... and they asked for maxed out range builds and well at the high end it's worse then 5th rate and low end just get merc's for cannon fodder.

Let's use the Lamannia forums here for general feedback about today's stress test for Cormyr and your experiences in general with the preview today. If we need to do separate threads as well for topics we can.
Any updates on the performance and overall findings with the 64bit server compared to the 32bit servers?

I remember a mention at looking into quality of life improvements on Enhancement Trees and having them better scale there damage as some Trees only scale for Heroic levels.

Example Assassin Tree: (No scaling)

Icon Enhancement Shadow Dagger.png Shadow Dagger: Throw a dagger made of solidified shadows at your enemy. Deals 4d8/6d8/8d8 unholy damage. (Maybe per Rogue level, like caster level)

Also the Rank 3: +25% Competence bonus to maximum hit points.
Can it be in Measure the Foe selection as not everyone wears Light Armor(they choose Cloth) and wastes 3 points just to get the HP, when in Assassin Tree everyone usually Will select Assassinate and goes better with Measure the Foe for its other benefits as well.

From what I've read here so far, it sounds like the new servers are still using the old net-code to sync the instance between players.

Please add an option to xfer off Cormyr for free at some point. For some players that is a main point of Hardcore and while the Cormyr event isnt HC it still somewhat is.

Can they make all the 32bit Servers(if not all at least the 4 most populated)mirrored and virtualized into 64bit lab Servers and throw the spaghetti code against the 64bit wall and see what sticks. Have those server instances run mirrored to our 32bit Servers state and little by little keep throwing and Al denti-ing the code so when our 64bit world becomes reality, there will be less gotchas to be had. That will probably speed up the migration and help cut costs when the migration actually happens for-realsies. Viva....Las Vegas!
