Cormyr is an epic fail as far as lag goes :(

The first day was terrible and I pretty much avoided it the first few weeks after that, but it's better now.

Cormyr is playable, but I get lock-ups and stuttering too frequently - it's definitely worse overall than live. It's not enough to keep me from doing a favor run for free points, but it is enough to keep me from particapating in the event or recommending to others we run it.

I haven't had lag on Sarlona since Thursday. It's hard to assess whether it was because night revels was removed or the changes made in the patch. There was no noticeable improvement from the previous crossbow change patch.

I hope SSG gets this is all figured out. I most likely will just finish my 7500 favor run slowly for the +8 tome and DDO points - and then end my Cormyr experience there.

On the plus side I got some free points and am established on another server - but all in all I would have preferred the planned Q3 adventure pack to Cormyr. It is what it is.

Loss and Latency aren't the same. Trying to make one thing be equivalent to another is why you fail to understand the problem.
Keep on trolling Bitss

I am lamenting the fact that for some people no amount of words seem to work.

Data loss means exactly that: the transmitted data never makes it to the server or the client.

Data latency is how long it takes the data to get there. By definition the data is not lost.
Really, tell Wayfinder.

Yes, "latency" means one thing, "loss" means another.
Okay, what IS the difference between Latency and Loss... When it comes to our info being sent across the wires or cables

I'm really digging disgusted how defensive ppl are getting.,.,

Hmm. Which words am I missing?
Latency does not equal loss except when it might. Had a few more odd blanks in my CHARINV

Do you understand the difference between a bus being 5 minutes late and a bus not arriving at all ?
Latency is the time a data packet takes to arrive at its destination, loss means it doesn´t arrive at all.

In game terms it might be the difference between a player casting a fireball, and the effect happening a second later and the player pressing his fireball key and the server not noticing he did because the input is lost on the way to the server.
