Hi all and @Torc,
Okay, we got the new teleport...
I want to point out that I do feel somewhat deceived.
The preview discussion was saying that teleport will have an added 2.5 sec induction casting. Not that teleport will have an added 2.5 sec induction and a new 5 second casting.
I'm still all cool about the new cosmetics, and I really hope we will see some of those in the store or at least at a different access than just the newest expansion.
But, I feel that teleport needs to be revisited soon.
My suggestion is that teleport gets a maximum of:
2.5 second induction + 2.5 second casting.
Anything more than 5 sec is out of the attention of the user and people will stop using it and completely ignore the cosmetics.
And a Quicken teleport should skip the induction.
Psychology would even argue that the whole duration should be below 3 seconds.
But assuming that the content is the animation and the loading is the induction I think you can get away with the 2.5 and 2.5 maximum.
Fyi: A website should ideally load completely within 1 to 2 seconds. Industry standards, supported by Google's performance guidelines, suggest keeping load times below 2.5 seconds to prevent users from abandoning the page.
Cheers
