Create a three to one named item trader for each expansion pack

After playing on the Cormyr server I was reminded of the general farming pain to get a few specific items in a gear set. Similiar to the MD weapon trader I would like to see a general named item trader in each expansion that converts any three named items into one of the other named items in the expansion. I seem to get so many pulls for equipment I will never use.

Honestly, I don’t think this would ever happen… although I would definitely like to continue to see new options for getting certain key pieces of gear.

For example, while I do think you should still have to run a specific quest to get a specific item, I love the Ravenloft system of trading in the collectibles for weapons, or Sharn’s system of crafting weapons / upgrading items.

I’m glad MD players can at least combine golden weapons into a desired one, for instance, even if this is still a long grind. It is a bit disappointing that there is no similar avenue for the other rare items.

Maybe three of the same item from a single quest could give you one rare from that quest? But even this would decimate the amount of money people would spend on rerolls… so idk

If i could have traded 100 of those useless MD weapons for an artifact, you know the things so common they used to drop as saga rewards, it would have save me a lot of brain cells and aggravation.

Nah, devs don't care for your good will THAT much. They want you to suffer, not enjoy yourself in a game.

I'd love to see every pack have a mechanic where all named loot could be crunched into a specific token, and then that token could be used to purchase all named loot from that pack, similar to how raids have runes and sands has bronze tokens.
