I read this as a "Slayer Area" for Cove and I thought that we were going to get a Crystal Cove Wilderness area with Rares/Locations/Slayers XP. Which just sounded really cool as a way to get some gems and shards without having to do the "Challenge".

how can players get behind the single event that destroyed the player in game economy?

For those of you that don't know, When CC first came out, there was an oversight with some wands or some sort of collectible that you could trade for and then sell said item to the npc vendor for a ridiculous amount of money.. It single handedly destroyed the ingame player economy, which put an end to the player ran AH, and introduced ' Crystal Shards ' as the new in game player currency, and turbine at the time also made a lot of content bound to account or bound to character to further crush the economy...

So thank Crystal Cove for ruining all of that..

Still boycotted on my end for the past 12 or so years...

Is this going to be the last Crystal Cove? I see very few groups forming to run the challenge and relatively light numbers of people running around the island collecting dabloons.


With numbers this light we need a way to prearrange challenge runs so the word gets out.

I personally would love to see an in game announcement board so people could arrange their personal time to be inworld when the runs are scheduled to happen.

Any chance this can be extended a bit? didn't realize how fun this is ... after not playing if for over a year.

Run it with a fast capped character and use Mikayl the Pious for the DDoor-that-never-expires. While it is more efficient with other players, you can get to the quota pretty easily just going South to the niche, the East, and then down to the waterfall. DDoor at corner to waterfall, some East point, and Waterfall area. Make sure to rest Mikayl after he uses three DDoors to get three more.

I still think the CC is the best event they did.

Even if it's nerfed now and the gear is meh, I still enjoy running it.

Even the music is worth turning on for this event, I just have to remember to turn it back off when I zone out of the area.

Mikayl the Pious with the permanent never expires D door makes him simply one of the last best hirelings left and definitely better than any of the paid for hirelings from expansions, i know people that have avoided buying expansions because they feel there is nothing extra there to get simply because of their love for this hireling and a ll the great uses he has, that speed up quest completion allow for quicker favor earning which means ddo points earning and allow for faster xp/min which means faster advancement without otto boxes and also more efficient use of store bought xp pots.

Thus hireling is top notch and incredible for providing positive benefit to everyone.

It would be really nice if the compass for crystal cove was not BTC.

I have a level 4 toon I just TR'd that has 90 compass and a level 32 with a great build for cove that had no compass. What reason is there for the compass to be BTC???

It would be nice if all the Cove and Challenge thingys--compasses, requisitions, minutes of time, etc.--were Bound to Account.

Crystal Cove is my favorite multiplayer game festival activity. There is no reason to play it. It needs new rewards. I am already sitting on a small mountain of compasses and pirate port potions and air elementals and other junk.

Wasn't there a boss spawn map for the Smuggler's Rest island at one point? Can't find it for the life of me. Maybe I dreamed it...
