cs not supporting any customer stuck in transfer

Please @Severlin @Tolero @Cordovan can you clarify why cs claims they can't do anything?
Why their 1st (and only answer in my case) is if we still have this problem when i kept updating my ticket with every failed transfer attempt. My last update was only 13 hours before they replied. Took me less than 2 hours to see they have finally answered and send them a more detailed update and they are silent again. Took them 42 days to answer and now i've been waiting for 2 since then. Why? wasn't it my turn in the queue?
Why ppl who got a 2nd answer were only told to keep trying? We've all been trying to transfer for the past month and a half.
What's gonna be done to adress this? Was anything done before? Why cs can't do anything?
When the servers come back up is this gonna be fixed?
Are you only working on bringing them up as ghost worlds and not touching anything about transfers?
Silence is not the way to communicate with your playerbase.

My guess... They have too many tickets too handle (the payment system and the coupon that didn't work didn't help this also) and they got pressured to finish them a.s.a.p. They seem to barely read the tickets and giving copy paste answers or answers that aren't even relevant for most cases. But this only gets them more tickets... CS currently is like scooping buckets of water out of a sinking boat.

But then again even before transfers CS was iffy. I once had a ticket about a missing Expansion item. I wrote in my opening ticket I went to the Expansion NPC and couldn't get the item there. CS response was: Go to the Expansion NPC... It got resolved eventually but the messages needed for this was ridicilous. Could have been solved in 2 if they actually read what I wrote.

I Want To Believe this. I hope this is the case. Because if not, that's just nasty, people losing characters forever. Even SSG can't go there...

right? Right? Please tell me they won't go there.

Got my 2nd answer from cs.

Based on the repeated transfer failures you're encountering, this issue appears to be related to character data size limits, particularly when the character in question is holding a substantial amount of shared bank items, mounts, pets, and crafting storage contents. Even for level 1 characters, these associated storage links can exceed the allowable data threshold for transfer, resulting in immediate failure during the process.

This is a known limitation referenced in the official World Character Transfer FAQ, as well as confirmed through player discussions on the DDO Forums. To help resolve the issue, I recommend the following:

✅ Suggested Steps to Resolve the Transfer Issue:

  1. Reduce Character Data Load Before Transfer:
    • Log into the character on Cannith and manually remove excess items from the Shared Bank, Mount/Pet Stable, and Crafting Storage.
    • Where possible, distribute items across multiple characters to reduce the data linked to a single character.
  2. Ensure You Have Enough Character Slots on the Destination Server (Thrane):
    • Confirm that you have enough available character slots to accommodate all characters being transferred. Lack of character slot availability can also block successful transfers.
  3. Log Out Properly Before Using the Transfer Tool:
    • Fully log out of the game with the character you intend to transfer. Then access the transfer tool from the launcher and proceed with the request.
  4. Transfer in Stages:
    • If you are moving multiple characters created for item transfer, please transfer only one at a time, especially if they each contain shared bank or crafting data.

For additional details, I recommend reviewing our official guidance here:
  • 🔗 World Character Transfer Instructions – DDO Support
  • 🔗 Forum Thread on Transfer Errors – Community Discussion
Once you've completed these steps and minimized the data associated with the character, you can attempt the transfer again.
Kind regards,

Anything to add @Severlin @Tolero @Cordovan ?
Does CS even know the servers are down and even if they were up you can't log into a packed character?

LOL. WTAF. That's comically bad even by SSG's low CS standards.

Two of the four "Suggested Steps" (#1 and #3) aren't even possible for a toon that's already in the packed stage, which it would have to be to know that the transfer fails.

#2 makes zero difference per SSG's own published information regarding the transfers and also based on the way transfers have always worked prior to this debacle. If you transfer a number of toons to the new server that exceeds your character limit, it still transfers the character, then forces you to choose which of the characters you want to activate dependent upon the number of available slots.

Someone needs to get the script monkeys a new script that's actually relevant to the way transfers work.

This is very bad and should be prioritized. Anyone who has a character in transfer limbo, especially their main character, deserves a reply at the very least. Not a scripted automatic generic response either.

Customer Support will continue to work through the ticket queue for transfers. As we've been saying for a while now, if you are still on a 32-bit game world and unable to transfer, the work to resolve your issue will continue when these worlds return as ghost worlds. Some number of those cases can be resolved by customer support, a lot of what is left involves specific work, either by other teams, development/build work, deployment, engineering, or other resolution. That work will continue.

Does that include further support for players who have posted that Customer Service finally responded and blew them off?

Then why are people receiving incorrect or expired advice from CS? Why doesn’t the response from CS state something like, “CS will manually transfer your toons once ghost servers are back up.” We all know SSG has the power to log into any of our accounts and root through our belongings. Recalls the Mabar “cheating” fiasco.

Why ? My interpretation here is that it looks like SSG did outsource part of its CS load or hired temp help, and didn't get its money's worth, or maybe were too cheap and just got what they paid for.

Or the 2 guys in CS just cracked under the load and let some AI system respond in their place.
