Customizable and Earned Permanent Hirelings

I would like to see customizable or earned permanent hirelings. Per my suggestion of an astral castle in lieu of a flying ship, another possibility would be earning customizable NPCs for one's castle (flying ship). As for hirelings, it would be nice to have more options available for permanent hirelings. Currently, there are too many permanent hirelings for certain levels, and not enough for others. The original D&D Gamemaster manual had details for how a character could buy and populate their own castle. Again, multiple suggestions at once.

Permanent customizable Alt accounts are already available. Free quest code would have given you most adventure packs. $8 dollars would get you 2 extra character slots. Level and park them at levels that make sense. Keep one on the reincarnation path if you want to improve them totally not needed. Leave one character slot to empty at all times to roll one to drag along for favor and you can get all the expansions for store points. Use the dungeon helper for auto follow. You gain buddy bonus for every quest. You gain extra pulls for gear. Each account is one class so gear is minimal. I quit pulling out hires ages ago and have never regretted it

1) I already purchased all game DLC. (2) I am talking about customizing some features (3) My other suggestion is to have perma-hirelings at more levels.

The Devs, Severlin in particular, have mentioned a couple of times in the past couple of years that they would love to completely revamp the hireling system, and make them permanent and customisable by the player.

The issue he said is the complexity and difficulty of any such development, but he said they do want to do it.

Now if you read my post and read Natashaelle post below your post you will see that the solution I offered is fully supported and in place. So players can hold their breath waiting or make the most of the solution that currently works and is available, It is what it is hirelings are for the most part useless except as lever pullers and squishy meat sacks

Does not address either suggestion I presented.
Free quest code would have given you most adventure packs.
Do not need it. I have all DLC.
$8 dollars would get you 2 extra character slots. Level and park them at levels that make sense.
Again, not addressing the two suggestions I presented. I am talking about customizable NPCs that can be used/controlled by a player (to some extent). You clearly did not read my post carefully enough.
It is what it is hirelings are for the most part useless except as lever pullers and squishy meat sacks.
This is simply not true. I have used hirelings to level my toon effectively.

The hireling/pet system is just weird, and they're all pretty awful lol. Some people like the more pms-y ones like larafay that just blow all their sp, but I never found their spells to land very often or do much damage.

I'd love a way to gear/level up a hireling, but I think the main issue is their AI. Healers charge in to melee, throw nimbus of lights when you desperately need healing, and stand in lava chugging sp pots and healing themselves til they die.

What I think would be awesome is if they just ditched the current system and used something more like the primal avatar summons/flame turret/falconer bird. It would be someone that's nearby but not targetable, and you could have a few active abilities such as making them manifest and grab aggro (like the turret), or pop up in place for 20 sec and start hurling spells. Could also have an "use " ability for levers and the like.

Why don't we bring it to the next level? Instead of generic hirelings, let me "hire a guild-mate" for the adventure. The guildie would set a price for their character to be contracted out and the default skills they would use (pick 4). When someone hires that character, they earn the plat from the job along with 10% of the xp from the quests (both reaper and normal). These contracts would be available at a special vendor on the guild airship (or Arimov's castle, if they ever get it.. lol), and the contract vendor is only available to guilds 180 and up.

This would serve 2 purposes, 1) better hirelings and, 2) more rewards for the higher level guilds (besides a world announcement... woo hoo)

Hey, I would be excited for a hireling we can put some gear on them-similar to the wolf and arty dogs already in the game.

Hirelings can be fully effective, i use them effectively every hardcore, the devs are not adding to the hirelings they are slowly pulling back everything on the hirelings to make them less and less useful from hardcore to hardcore. Their spells do less damage, they move slower when trying to keep up with the group, so that now I have to pull my hireling to me while moving a half-sec before each combat, they use less of their effective spells and more of their single target spell point draining effects(and if you disable those spells they do nothing at all for gaps of time). They get broken more often, you will know this when you hit there two feet come to me icon and the cooldown doesnt activate.

Dont believe the hype from the past there will be no hireling upgrade/improvement coming anytime soon. They will not be spending any resources on something that might speed up your hamster grind.

I see a lot of people who like to say, lets give them the benefit of the doubt, but lets be realistic “actions speak louder than words”.
