DDO and Discord Overlay Not Cooperating

Unsure if this is the right category to put this in, but many times when I have Discord overlay enabled and hop on DDO, I get this weird purple square in the top left corner of my screen. This is *only* for DDO, as the overlay works fine in all other games. Anyone got any ideas?

I don't have that issue and I love the discord overlay. I'm not sure if any of these will help, but here is a non-comprehensive list of things I have encountered when using Discord overlay with DDO.

  1. Sometimes your DDO client will start in admin mode. Even if it isn't set to admin mode by default, whenever your client downloads an update it will be in "admin mode". In order for Discord to function correctly (PTT keys, overlays, etc.), Discord must also be run in admin mode. This requires a full exit out of Discord and restart in admin mode. This will correct 99% of the compatibility issues.
  2. The DDO Client does not always show up correctly in Discord's REGISTERED GAMES section. You can fix this by removing the DDO client from the REGISTERED GAMES list and then manually readding the application. Note, you should add the client when the game is running and not the application for the launcher of the game.
  3. Your Discord GAME OVERLAY settings may need some tweaking. You can try changing your TOGGLE OVERLAY LOCK keybind. Then join a voice channel in Discord and move to DDO. Toggle the overlay and manually adjust the various window placements for the Discord overlay within DDO then toggle the overlay off again to see if that helps.

Hope something in here helps! It's often fixed any issues I've encountered!

Alright, will try out options 2 and 3. I know it's not the first one, if that's the case then the overlay - purple square and all - simply just don't work. But thanks for the advice!
