For those who aren't aware, this bonus increases the loot roll on chests and applies to just about anything that isn't hard-gated by, say, a certain percentage drop chance like most named loot. So, if you roll a 5, it becomes 15, if you roll a 90 and you need 100 to hit a special loot table you hit 100, etc. In general it means a bit better loot. Devs have said multiple times that this bonus does not affect the chance of named items appearing in a chest.

It's not been definitively stated if it affects the chance for mythic or reaper bonuses, but anecdotal observations by players suggest that it does.

There may be something else as well, but in game I'm receiving +20% guild renown at the moment (and a few hours ago I wasn't), so I'm guessing it's a +20% guild renown bonus weekend now.
