Probably not a good idea, people tend to think the alert is the issue but the alert simply displays when conditions warrant, so having a "no alert weekend" would probably not be a particularly playable experience.
Try it can’t be any worse then with 🚨
It’s not like 🚨 is stopping players from getting 🚨

Unless it turns out that 'alert' activating the AI of even more monsters makes the lag exponentially (^2) worse and it leads into a change of incorrect philosophy in the last 15 or so years. Add 'leash' to that as well.

Like Tom Cruise once said "I didn't kill him. The bullets and the fall killed him".

If it can happen with the string theory it can happen with alert!

Unless my memory fails (and it may) Alert doesn't activate any new mobs, it buffs mobs and debuffs the player.

People have been telling me this for over ten years. Devs have been telling me this for over ten years.

Yet everytime there is red alert I lag and mobs run from everywhere towards me. Except since Mabar this year they seem to start to run then stop as if they are lagging as well. Which is a godsend really, giving me time to lag off.

So I can't really believe alert doesn't cause lag. Maybe the buffs on the mobs cause lag? Maybe the debuffs cause lag? Maybe the mobs have a hidden thing that on buff they search for players? Maybe some monsters on monster aggro they alert other monsters and THAT causes Alert and lag? Maybe there's a hidden subroutine getting an endless loop that causes lag? Maybe it's like jump lag that happens every day but nobody believes it exists even though it's on multiple videos on youtube. Either way, lag.

Easiest proof is lava area in Titan pre-raid. One ogre sees you, all ogres aggro and run towards you (but can't because barrier), instant purple alert, instant lag.

If you don't believe the devs, who have access to server performance statistics, then there isn't anything to talk about.

as a suggestion, add an on screen icon , similar to a buff icon, that updates each week and shows what bonus is on when you roll over it, so players don't need to visit the forums to see what is on this week.

It's a great idea.

Has been asked for before, went as expected.

Hope they do something different this go round.

I know right. Same thing here with the weather service. Every time they tell me its going to rain i go out side and get wet. Clearly them telling me its going to rain is causing me to get wet.

Did you ever play when Dungeon Alert hadn't been thought off or implemented?
If so, do you remember your same actions not causing lag before?

I don't think DA would cause more lag than all the mobs, but wouldn't actually mind seeing what it looks like without it tbf.

Sadly I've only been around 15 years which is why conspiracy theories like this get me going.
