DDO Bonus Days!

I don't care about XP. Please stop with all the unnecessary and unwanted XP bonus weekends. I also don't care about gear, so please no more loot bonus weekends. /s

Sure, Easter could and probably should have more interesting and more broadly appealing bonuses. That said I shall salt the snacks of a thousand Italians their salty deserts that go with their evening wine with the tears of whiny DDO farts and they'll find it too salty to palate.
Saltier than swedish licorice?

It would have been a nice free sample yes. Thematic, and would attract goodwill.

Although I was talking about the weekend bonus, which is what can motivate people to play several hours a day. Why introduce something that affects only a few people during a holiday weekend? A more universal bonus, or several bonuses to affect more people, would have helped them retain more people playing during these holidays.

Yesterday my server was basically a desert. SSG needs to have a better marketing mind.
People logging in but not buying things only costs SSG money. They're trying to walk the tightrope of just enough to keep people playing enough to pay for VIP or XP pots.

An attractive bonus gets people to play, and those who play can buy things. People who don't play and go to other games or do other things invest their money elsewhere.

DDO has an entire economy built around paying to not play, Otto's boxes being the most obvious example. Anything they can do that encourages people spend more money and play less is a win for them.

This is true. And I have been convinced to never again spend any money with SSG while I continue to play due to awful customer service experiences. And the predatory marketing practices they favor. And the refusal to address long-standing issues. And the utter lack of communication with the playerbase.

Meanwhile, I'll happily spend money on games that try hard to give players the best experience possible, listen to feedback, fix bugs in their game, and otherwise have good relationships with their players.

I prefer more crafting XP than loot or Heroic/Epic XP in general.

Yeah, my point was that there are people that want different things and I was making a sarcastic joke. I actually care about loot the most by far, and experience as second - I was just making the point that nobody should be so salty to call things other people still need as useless or "not a bonus" just because they have surpassed that hurdle. It is so self-centered that it's a wonder people actually have the gall to type that in.

That said, they do have the point that a major world-wide holiday should have more broadly appealing bonuses because people are at vastly different points in their DDO adventures and appreciate and value completely different things.

Well, I'm just saying one thing. I barely played during the holidays because I was playing another game that offered a way better bonus this weekend. And no doubt many people were like me. But SSG has never been good at marketing, so it's not surprising.

I'm not salty. I'll just stick to what interests me. If other games do it better than DDO, bad luck for SSG.

A bonus that attracts a lot of people is something that benefits SSG first and foremost. But if they prefer to lose customers to other games, why get upset? That's their problem.

Sure but on the other hand, some of the things they call a bonus isn't really. The weekend bonus should be something that applies for everyone which is why there should be multiple bonuses each weekend.

A lot of people don't craft. A lot of people don't do challenges. There's no bonus for those players on weekends with crafting XP bonus, or challenge ingredient bonuses.

Every weekend should always have an XP bonus or a loot bonus that applies to everyone and then another bonus on top of that like VIP or challenge ings, or double useless daily dice (during which everyone should get a free gold roll for each day of the bonus).

Every major holiday? Sure.
Every weekend? Nah.
