It always amazes me when people complain about getting something for free... 'It's not enough, I want more'.

Complaining about getting something for free is called whining. Were you not coddled enough as a baby? Gimme Gimme Gimme.
XP bonuses cost SSG *nothing*. Meaningful XP bonuses get people to login.

SSG offers no feedback mechanism other than the forums to provide feedback. It's not like they've ever polled their customer base "How are we doing?", "What could we do better?" or rate your experience as "unhappy face, neutral face, or happy face". You'd think they'd at least poll VIPs. Never happened, never will because their focus isn't customers. It's revenue.

Is it though, considering how many on the forums complain about how many revenue streams SSG doesn't implement?

Personally I feel that when compared to 10% buddy bonus (no raids) or 5% buddy bonus (including raids) 5% vip bonus feels exceptionally anemic especially when it is a paid subscription exclusive bonus.
The buddy bonuses also serve as an incentive to group up

Feel free to correct me but IIRC VIP bonus day stack with VIP bonus which stack with everything else while buddy bonus (or extra heroic/epic XP) don't (only applies at quest base xp). So a 50% buddy bonus feels like 10% at most depending on how many other bonus you stack on the same quest

Ah right, some bonuses apply multipliers at different stages in the calculations.

It’s not whining, it’s just wanting the bare minimum of ‘doing your job’ energy.

Agreed. The tragic part is this isn’t even a long putt... it’s a tap‑in. They could focus on customers and revenue at the same time and at literally 0$cost, and they still shank it into the trees.

That’s where the VIP frustration comes from.

Lack of marketing is ddo's achille's heel. Imagine how many players we'd have with a growth plan, promotions, and revisit to on-boarding new players. But I guess Fiscal is making all the Responsible decisions.

So giving something away for free only fits "YOU" if it's something "YOU" want?... Try that argument in neverland, it might work there.
