Or just permanently bump up the bonus XP included in VIP.I always though why they can't do both, just a normal bonus like every week and an extra bonus for VIPs, feels ankward to have nothing from time to time.
the irony, no offense jack, you spent $39 @ box. but are holding back $14 for vip when those boxes have xp pots to snag an extra 5%?I'm gonna wait for the next 10% to go VIP and use my boxes on my TRs then.
And I will echo your sentiment every time. I didn't bother to post in guilds MotD as we have several F2P members that would not even play.I've said it many times before and I will say it again - VIP should never be the only bonus. It should be in addition to some other bonus so everyone benefits.
Giving an additional bonus to VIPs every week is a sound idea, but taking away a long-established bonus from the rest of the community - most of them paying customers - well that's one of the worst suggestions I've ever read on these forums and I've read some really bad ones lol.I am saying this for the first time and will likely say it again and again in the future.
Bonus days should be for VIP subscribers only, FTP and premium should only receive the weekly coupon code. Make VIP have value again for those that wish to subscribe a committed amount of money to the game development.
Having the bonus days locked behind subscriptions is another good way to push players towards subscription. The VIP program does that well too, it gives certain looting percentage increases and now they should be considering lowering the standard loot percentages to make these subscription values even more important and consider a reasonable increase in subscription cost to keep
up with inflation.
Note: this would also be an important revenue increase from those that multibox for both weekly bonuses and looting percentages
Change is inevitable and all good things come to an end is also true. DDO has a history of changing long-established things this wouldnt be their first.Giving an additional bonus to VIPs every week is a sound idea, but taking away a long-established bonus from the rest of the community - most of them paying customers - well that's one of the worst suggestions I've ever read on these forums and I've read some really bad ones lol.

There is no better time than the present to make a change that would encourage the “most of them are paying customers” types to open up their wallets and pay for a subscription that benefits the games future developments, I mean you do want to support the game you love and keep
it outputting new material right?
Those that dont pay anything at all most certainly dont require any empathy for their loss of Bonus days.
Agreed, many of those long-established changes generated badwill but sometimes things are done in the importance of keeping the game going, my suggestion as it is certainly wont bring goodwill from those that are ftp but paying for the game can sometimes supersede that and be an important change for future game developement. Most of the totally ftp players playing the game are likely newer players - there are very vets totally ftp, and that includes everyone I know with alt accounts. Very few people are using ftp alt accounts.
Change is inevitable for sure, but good change is also preferable over bad change. Generating goodwill always trumps generating badwill.
With that said it wouldn't personally move the needle for me other than thinking they would be off their rocker to implement this idea. The VIP value proposition currently boils down mostly to one thing - whether you think the VIP xp bonus is worth 11,000ish points. Because that is the difference between buying points and getting VIP + the points.
You are soooo fired. My fault guys, I let my VIP lapse on Monday. This is clearly aimed at punishing me.

Devs will blame "the economy", "this day and age", etc.Meh. Why only 5% Cordovan?
Last 2 have been 10%.
