DDO Character Planner - DDOBuilder Version 2

Please note: There is a bug in game with the Sacred Defender: Holy Bastion + 1 HP and +1 Postive Spellpower per AP spent in tree. During selection:
  • Sacred Shield Enhancement only contributes +1 to HP and 0 to Positive Spellpower, despite its 2 AP cost.
  • Divine Righteousness and Glorious Stand cores contribute +2 to Positive Spellpower respectively, despite their 1 AP cost each.
  • Eternal Defender core contributes 0 to Positive Spellpower, despite its 1 AP cost.
  • Divine Revelation Enhancement contributes 0 to Positive Spellpower, despite its 3 AP cost.
However, when both Sacred Defender and Glorious Stand are toggled on an additional +2 bonus to Postitive Spellpower appears. I have no idea from where. So, the overall 48 AP spend in the tree only results in a bonus of +47 to both HP and Positive Spellpower.
Effects added to model these for next release.

  • Crusader's Chapel does not apply a +15 Guild Bonus to Poison Spellpower.
  • Sign of the Silver Flame does not apply a +15 Guild Bonus to Chaos, Evil, Good and Lawful Spellpowers.
Fixed for next release.

A cosmetic thing, but for the Past Life tab, would it be possible to list the total +s for each section. Either having it under the word Heroic/Epic/etc or to have it in the window bar, like how AP says "Total Points X, Racial Y, Universal Z" ?

Simply a quick "at a glance" way to verify that my character's updated when working on a new build idea, since the game shows me these #s at a glance as well.
This info should already be shown in the heading of the enhancement tab as to how many of each bonus AP type you have.

The base spell points for classes are not being assigned correctly at each level:
  • For example, a level 20 paladin should have 260 base spell points however, the builder shows 245. Also, a level 20 wizard should have 1125 base spell points, however, the builder shows 1025.
  • I believe the issue is related to the below entry in their respective .class files. I am assuming the builder is not treating the first value as level 0 and is instead treating it as level 1, so it stops reading them after the 20th value, highlighted in red:
    • Paladin: <SpellPointsPerLevel size="21">0 0 0 0 20 35 50 65 80 95 110 125 140 155 170 185 200 215 230 245 260</SpellPointsPerLevel>
    • Wizard: <SpellPointsPerLevel size="21"> 0 50 75 100 125 150 180 215 255 300 350 405 465 530 600 675 755 840 930 1025 1125</SpellPointsPerLevel>
Fixed for next release.

  • The PRR bonus gained from the Armor Type BAB mutiplier are being rounded incorrectly. For example on my level 34 barbarian, in game the PRR bonus with medium armor is 25 x 1.5 = 37.5, rounded up to 38, however, in the builder it is 37.
Code changed to round this up for Medium armor only (the only type where it is 1.5 * BAB)

  • The Blood Feast: Healing Amplification (Rare) Filigree is currently providing a +2 PRR bonus when it should be a +2 MRR bonus.
  • The Ultimate Fury: Attack and Damage (Rare) Filigree is currently providing a +2 PRR bonus when it should be a +2 MRR bonus (ignore the in-game description on the item referring to +2 PRR, it is wrong). Furthermore, it is also providing a hidden +1 bonus to Wisdom.
Filigrees fixed, and bugged info and effects added to Ultimate Fury.

I don't know if this is the place for it, but I have a feature request.

The new (to me, anyway) Quests tab. Would it be possible to add a field to each quest, saying which adventure pack or chain (for base game) it belongs to?

I'd like to be able to pick a dropdown or type, say, 'seeker' to filter to waterworks quests. Or Barovia or Vault, etc.: the same text that filters them ingame.

Without that, i don't think i'll be using the builder to track quests.
Feature added for next release.

Warblade's Reflection
Shadow striker effects updated and fixed for all items

Loads of hitpoint breakdowns
I have added some code to allow the builder to track percentage discrepancies for percentage bonus items for hitpoints only due to rounding errors. For your Paladin build, I get the following correct total of 5007 hp:

Code:
                                                Hitpoints 5007

This info should already be shown in the heading of the enhancement tab as to how many of each bonus AP type you have.
Maybe I wasn't clear what I was asking

I want it to show (in the Past Life Tab) -- Heroic: X, Racial: Y (this way I can compare the PL tab to my character sheet at-a-glance)

*similar*

to how it's shown in the AP tab how many you have available.

Ah, I can add these numbers to the left hand label buttons to show how many you have.

Hi Maetrim,

During the course of testing builder 2.0.0.73 with my build files I discovered the following:
  • The description of Stalwart Defender: Toughness core states 'You gain +1 Hit Point for each action point you spend in this', however, in game none of the Stalwart Defender cores below provide a +1 bonus to HP, despite their 1 AP cost each:
    • Stalwart Defender: Toughness
    • Stalwart Defender: Stalwart Defense
    • Stalwart Defender: Overbalance
    • Stalwart Defender: Stand Fast
    • Stalwart Defender: Defensive Footwork
    • Stalwart Defender: Last Stand
  • After adjusting for this discrepancy, I am happy to report that the builder and in game HP totals now match for all of my characters, so this issue has finally been put to bed. :)
  • The Measure the Foe Enhancement in the Assassin Tree is not adding its bonuses to Melee Power, Dodge, Max Dodge, To Hit and Assassinate DC, as the Stance Requirement is set to Measure the Foe, instead of Sneak.
  • Armor Check Penalty values are not displaying for any Armor.
  • The Light Armor Mastery Enhancement in the Assassin Tree is providing a reduction to the Armor Check Penalty (ACP) of Light Armor, which I do not think it does in game. Regardless, in the builder this is resulting in negative values being applied to the Balance, Hide, Jump, Move Silently, Tumble and Swim Skills. For example:
    • When equipping the Legendary University Bulwark's Reinforced Shirt, which has no ACP:
      • -6 ACP value is applied to Balance, Hide, Jump, Move Silently, Tumble.
      • -12 ACP value is applied to Swim.
    • When equipping the Legendary Demon Scale Armor, which has -1 ACP:
      • -7 ACP value is applied to Balance, Hide, Jump, Move Silently, Tumble.
      • -14 ACP value is applied to Swim.
  • There is an item named Legendary Scientist's Specs which is an erroneous duplicate of the in-game item Legendary Scientist's Sights.

Effects added to handle these erroneous hp totals.

Fixed

  • Armor Check Penalty values are not displaying for any Armor.
Item Tooltips updated for Armor/Shields that have an ACP
  • The Light Armor Mastery Enhancement in the Assassin Tree is providing a reduction to the Armor Check Penalty (ACP) of Light Armor, which I do not think it does in game. Regardless, in the builder this is resulting in negative values being applied to the Balance, Hide, Jump, Move Silently, Tumble and Swim Skills. For example:

      • -14 ACP value is applied to Swim.
Various issues with ACPs in the builder were fixed like effects that should reduce ACP were increasing it. Missing ACP (Shield) breakdown added and will now also correctly affect relevant skills.

  • There is an item named Legendary Scientist's Specs which is an erroneous duplicate of the in-game item Legendary Scientist's Sights.
Item removed from the UI (Still exists in the builder)

All this for the next release.

Hi Maetrim, Improved Sneak Attack feat is not able to be selected by Arcane Trickster. It should be available at L21 with a minimum 12 levels in Rogue or Arcane Trickster and 21 Dex. It is showing up correctly on Rogue.

Now for the really big ask...
Is it possible to give us a way to clear the skills board for a single level and/or single skill? My main is an Int Rog and it takes me ages to remove the skills one point at a time and then fill them back in again. Being able to clear a line after I move classes around would save me a LOT of time. If it is possible to swap two classes positions in the Classes and Levels instead of overwriting and then overwriting again this would also be very welcome as it would save having enhancements reset due to class levels changing. Given the way the builder is laid out I doubt this is possible, but if you don't ask... ;)

Slightly more reasonable request: there are a few Enhancements such as Shiradi Champion: Good Luck which give varying bonuses if a prereq is met. Currently the Breakdowns show this as one version active and the other version as non-stacking which triggers the stat turning red for a duplicated bonus. Can these extra effects be hidden or placed in the Inactive group instead to stop the false flags? Also, can some of the other effects such as favor bonuses vs specific races be put into a new category named something like Situational Bonuses? Having these marked as Inactive makes it a little harder to see the bonuses that should be there when trying to read through the list.

Keep up the great work, the builder has made tinkering with my character so much more manageable. I really appreciate the effort you put in to keep it updated :)

You can already clear skills by right clicking on the skill name. Or max a skill by left clicking on the skill name.
I will see if I can add options to clear skills by level, but that may interfere with the current highlight level option. (By clicking on the level name)

Being able to clear a line after I move classes around would save me a LOT of time. If it is possible to swap two classes positions in the Classes and Levels instead of overwriting and then overwriting again this would also be very welcome as it would save having enhancements reset due to class levels changing. Given the way the builder is laid out I doubt this is possible, but if you don't ask... ;)
Version 1 of the builder had the ability to swap class levels, its something I can bring back in V2.

Slightly more reasonable request: there are a few Enhancements such as Shiradi Champion: Good Luck which give varying bonuses if a prereq is met. Currently the Breakdowns show this as one version active and the other version as non-stacking which triggers the stat turning red for a duplicated bonus.
I should be able to hide these when not active or move to an inactive group. It would also take a while to correctly mark all the relevant efefcts.

This is also possible to do, although the hard part would be finding all the correct effects to move to the "Situational" section.

Keep up the great work, the builder has made tinkering with my character so much more manageable. I really appreciate the effort you put in to keep it updated :)

*Edited for typo's
You're welcome.

Is DDOBuilder supposed to save the layout of the panes after I close and reopen the program? It's not doing it on my setup, but I thought it used to on my old computer a few years ago.

It is meant to save the layout. It is stored in the file DDOBuilder.ini which is in the same folder as the DDOBuilder.exe file. If the folder has incorrect access right (e.g. you put it in a sub folder of "Program Files") then it will fail to save the layout on application close.

As a note, Windows protects the "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86)" folders such that applications do not have write access to these locations by default, so unzipping DDOBuilder to a sub folder in either of these locations would cause the issue you are seeing.

Ah that is exactly what I did. Thank you! I should probably have known that having worked with computers all my life haha!

Hi, I just wanted to report a few bugs with builder version 2.0.0.73:
  • Divine Crusader: Just Cause only provides a +1 AC bonus vs. Evil Creatures.
  • Divine Crusader: Bring Down Wrath does not seem to be working correctly, as Shields are not being considered as Favored Weapons, so they are not being granted the additional +1/2/3 enhancement bonus from Divine Crusader: Strike with Poise.
  • The Shield Enhancement field under the Weapons Category is not being populated with the Enhancement Bonus of Shields.
  • The Technomage 5 Filigree Set Bonus: 20% Runearm Recharge Rate is not working.
  • For the Artificer Class:
    • Mass Inflict and Mass Repair spells are not auto memorised in game.
    • In the Artificer.class file, the level for the following spells is set to -6:
      • Inflict Critical Damage, Mass
      • Repair Critical Damage, Mass
  • The Paladin Spells Angelskin and Righteous Command are not applying their respective bonuses to PRR/MRR and Melee Power when selected.

Arcane Tricksters should be able to select the Enlarge Metamagic feat as a normal feat, they can't in the builder. All the other Metamagics work though. (I know Enlarge is not one of the bonus feats, I'm speaking about normal feats you select while leveling.)

So, attack speed doesn’t seem to be stacking as it does in game. The 15% from Blinding speed despite being Feat does not stack enhancement speed granted from items. Winter wolf grants Combat style bonus of 20% with Swift Hunter adding additional 10% for total of 30% . Currently its adding the 20 with the 30 for total of 50.

Fatal Harrier adds 5% for 20 secs not 10% and not sure exactly how that stacks in game to be honest
