DDO, Discord and ID requirement changes ...

Will this have much of an impact for us DDO discordians? I'd assume the DDO discords are already safe and that this is a non issue, yet this requirement seems potentially problematic.

"Discord announced on Monday that it will be launching "teen-by-default" settings globally next month. In essence, this means that you'll have to jump through some hoops to use the service in full as the default options now will restrict access to certain age-gated spaces and filter content that's age-inappropriate for teenagers. Unlocking Discord's full suite of features will start with sharing your face with the company."

I guess it will depend on what they consider "adult" vs "teen safe", and how much each individual server allows/moderates.

I'm in a few servers that have age restricted channels. Most are for funny innuendos and lewd jokes. I'm not in any that upload actual pron (though I'm sure those exist elsewhere). Chances are those individual channels will simply get deleted instead of forcing members to upload photos for age verification (at least I expect that for the ones I'm in), because the alternative of removing the age-restriction means that it's content must abide by the normal discord rules. While small invite-only communities could probably get away with it, servers that are large and open to the public are also more likely to have members who are sensitive and will report content violations, putting those servers at risk of moderation.

Does anyone know if this will impact my ability to VC with people already on my friend's list? Or screenshare with them?
