I think its pretty poor SSG failed to create a mechanism allowing a gamer to choose which server they would like to apply server-bound products etc

it's about SSG having a captive audience and being too incompetent to entice money out of them... It's doubling down on stupid business decisions.
That's all you need to say. And we already know SSG's business acument isn't the greatest

This is what they've done with the new xpaxs since Saltmarsh, but they haven't bothered to review the old xpacks. In fact, they haven't even bothered to include a new RL bundle. Hell, they haven't even changed the description of the Sharn pack, saying that the tiefling race (now free) is included in the bundle (and this is serious, they could be accused of falsehood). Anyway, SSG urgently needs someone to competently take care of the store and the market.

I understand that they are a small team, but the store and the market are where they get the money to keep the business afloat. They really need to pay more attention to both. They could get more money if they included new bundles in the store, updated the obsolete items, included items that we have been asking for for a long time... Neglecting this is fiscally irresponsible, not giving daily gold dice to VIPs.

Those packs are heavily discounted because they're old and most gamers already have some of those components (I already had sharn prior to buying the collector product when it was heavily discounted IN THE DDOSTORE).

Its upto gamers to log into DDO at least weekly to see the latest promotions

How you decide to spend your money is your business. Its like walmart...even if you like a particular product but you're unwilling to spend the amount requested you will walk away :) (y)

Yes, but the normal price of those old xpacks really should have dropped a long time ago. Because, as you say, they are old. Or they should have used them as bait to attract people to other products.

As black friday deals, they really leave something to be desired. In the marketplace there is nothing that many of us veterans could want. In the store... the truth is that there isn't much either. The otto ones are not discounted, I don't count them as a black friday offer, you can get them every 3 months. And the rest of the items... well, there's nothing I want, really. It seems to me that if they had been a little smarter with their offers they would have made more money. But oh well, marketing is not their strong point.

Of course he decides how to spend his money. His point is that if SSG paid more attention to the market, and updated the old packs to have an upgrade option, he would have spent more money. Updating and improving offers is essential for any seller who wants to be successful.

Only SSG know how successful Black friday has been compared with previous years...and not every potential customer will be satisfied with the offered promotions hence my walmart example :) (y)

Definitely. My impression is that they are content with their small pond and do not dare to try to get more sales, but without a doubt it is their business and their decision. Small ponds are more comfortable than large lakes for some business owners.

I'm not complaining, anyway I had my eye on other deals, I don't have a special predilection for spending here.

The deals reflect the fact the game was designed back in 2005 (or whenever). The kindof deals some folks desire demand re-engineering the game, for which there is zero capital available

I honestly don't see what there is to re-engineering the game into more accurate offerings. That does not imply changes in the code, just more commercial attention and a little knowledge of the market they are aimed at.

But as I said, it leaves me indifferent whether they want to sell or not.

What is this "upgrading" crap people are talking about for the different tiers? collectors and ultimate...?

So let me get this straight if I buy the normal Feywild right now for $16 then say next year the Ultimate get's black friday'd down to $15... does that mean I can upgrade to Ultimate for free at that point?

You could have fooled me. You seem to be endlessly complaining :)

What did you actually want from the sales from SSG?

Of course it doesn't mean that. Saltmarsh and the new packs from this have an option that allows you to pay only for the new content that you do not have, discounting the content that you have (which implies having previously purchased a previous tier of the xpack). On offer, that discount of what you have paid is applied with the offer price, of course, not with the normal full price (which is logical)

But older xpacks, like sharn or feywild, do not have that upgrade option. RL cannot even be purchased as a single option on the market, they removed the old bundles. There are people who have been asking you for years to return the old RL bundles, since they want things like the mist bottle (and no, that does not require re-engineering of the game, the items are already created and currently exist in game xd)

I have not complained about these Black Friday offers, I have simply pointed out that they have bad marketing.

I was expecting discounts on things I could use like jeweler tookits, wishes of memories or storage. Maybe even an a la carte discount coupon, to get a cookie bag, which they never include in their offers. But as I said, I don't really need those things either, and I have found more tempting offers on other sites. I'm not complaining, I'm happy with what I've got.

I have tried to help improve this game many times with suggestions and warnings. If you confuse that with complaining, ok. In any case, while I like the game and want it to be successful, I'm not hooked enough to blindly accept everything SSG offers *shrug*

Probably the kind of thing we're more likely to see in the December or July deep sales tbh. Black friday iirc is very heavily market based...and heavily in decline I might add.
If anyone is doing any kind of market research, put one more down in the 'wanted to throw money at them but won't cause it feels like they're taking the pi**' column!
