So l’m finally getting the gist of knocking off 2 birds with one Iconic stone!

This after 1/2 dozen Iconic Pl’s where l didn’t get/ take advantage.

So now l’m trying to pare up Iconic + most beneficial Heroic PL for max efficiency.

Figured l could go 3 x Deep Gnome / Sacred Fist. (Pally being my Fav and love play style :) )

I’m Deep Gnome L1 now and trying to figure out how to jump to Sacred Fist from 2 on.

Read that l may need lesser heart?

Just don’t want to have to backtrack after messing this up lol

If you just want 1 wiz/19 SF, you can just refuse training, and then go visit the normal paladin trainer to do that. If you want to get rid of the 1 wiz, then you need a +1 heart.
Just looking for option 1 1/19 split.

So when l speak to trainer he will allow me to choose SF?

Thought he might confuse me with every other Pally 😆

Sacred Fist lacks monk stances and CHA Battle Trance. Usually the solution is splashing monk then something with Divine Might, but on a Deep Gnome you can only have one unless you use a +1 Heart of Wood to get rid of the wizard level.

There is a trance in monk now, no?

Considering this seems to have the goal of just leveling in the Iconic levels, a trance isn't a make-or-break thing for the build. However, Sacred Fist doesn't explicitly need CHA to be the highest stat, as it will namely just be helping with saves if you can find another attribute to handle your combat prowess. 3 levels of Monk is enough to get WIS for to-hit, damage, and the Trance, which dovetails pretty well with a Deep Gnome's WIS bonus. Sacred Fist does well enough leveling with 15 levels (to get Holy Sword and either Zeal or Ki Explosion). That leaves 2 levels split between the Deep Gnome Wizard level and another to decide between Monk (4) or Wizard (2), with the Monk level likely being a better choice.

It has been nearly 4 years since I did my Deep Gnome past lives, but the melee ones I did all made decent use of the convenient 1 AP Archmage Invisibility, and Sacred Fist loves having the extra Metamagic (for Quicken or Extend).

Heh, it's really easy to get tracked into optimizing a build when that's a fun thing for you, but it's really not required for HPL+IPL cycles.

Stance = DPS+5%. It's an easy punt. Here's what monk brings:
Stance < WIS Trance < DS+25 Shintao Strike

As an Iconic IPL+HPL life, you can pick existing gear & knowledge OR farming, learning, and optimizing for 3x cycles. If leaning into a new build is fun for you, go for it! If not, don't worry about being gimpy -- SF is plenty strong for PL'ing.

If you want to lean in, there's 1 wiz 3 monk 16 SF, WIS based, Henshin Trance, Shintao Strike. Skip stances unless "free" -- costs 2 feats for 19x1 via fire stance. I wouldn't run that myself as I like trapping too much and thus I'd do 1 wiz 1~5 trap (rog, dh, art) 14~18 SF, probably VKF/TWF.

BTW, I use carry-builds (INQ, VKF, or Q-Staff) and treat the heroic target PL class as worthless junk, but that's pure laziness. I like making new builds a lot, but I hate farming new gear even more, especially for just 3x cycles. Universal Trees FTW! ;)
