Dhampir question

How would cleric or alchemist work better for self-healing on a fire-sorc nuker?(AKA "what I want").
Better off staying a dragonborn sorc then and using fire and primal healing temp hp then going undead and losing your elemental form

And your mcls caster dps at cap losing any more you don't have to sacrifice isn't going to work well can also use sentinel as your 3'rd tree

not great but if it keeps you alive works

And you know this based on?

You're trying really hard to convince me without actually offering any information.
I'm not trying to convince you of anything. I'm just telling you the facts.

The elemental forms are a major form. The undead shrouds, including embrace death, are all a major form. The warlock's celestial spirit is a major form. They're all incompatible with each other. Only one major form can be active at a time.

and we know for a fact the damphur version is going to "count" as a major form?

If that's the case then yeah that's a major bummer and I am no longer excited about this new race.

AFAWK its a copy of the Pale Master shrouds and will function the same way, yes. It will count as a Shroud for all Pale Master enhancements.

I cant imagine it wont count as a Major Form, otherwise you could use it at the same time as a PM Shroud and be a Double Vampire lol

Be easy enough to make it not stack.

But kind of beggers the point: why bother with it? I've been following this thread all day and am a bit confused what the point is if you can't use it with other things?

But I guess that's SSG design logic. Make it the answer to a question no one asked.

read steelstar's post. he said it.

  • Embrace Death: Toggle: While Embrace Death is active, you gain 100% critical hit resistance and are able to be healed by Negative Energy. You take 50% healing from Positive, and double damage from Light. (This replaces your natural vulnerability to Light). You are considered Undead rather than your original type for the purposes of most effects. You gain +2 Intelligence, +2 Charisma, +2 Wisdom, and +3 Perform. Your melee attacks have a 10% chance to heal you for 1d3 with Negative Energy per Character level (max 20). This is a Major Form, and counts as a Shroud for the purpose of Pale Master.

But we don't know that that's how its going to work. Unless someone has tested on lamaland?
The Dhampir undead form counts as a major transformation and you can only have one of these toggled on at a time.
I tested most major transformations with Dhampirs' on Lamm for bug reporting and it was impossible to have two (i.e. it worked as intended). I didn't test Sorcerer, but the fact that Elemental forms for Druid didn't work with it - I just assumed the same.

I tested:
  • Pale Master
  • Druid (not blightcaster) Wild Shape and Elemental forms
  • Dark Apostate
  • Enlightened Spirit - Celestial Spirit
  • Warlock Abyss Pact
If that isn't enough proof, I'm not sure what is lol.
Elemental forms also specifically say you are no longer counted as original race and can only be healed by positive energy (robots lose repair etc.). I think the only way to get healing from negative in elemental form would be with a friendly Alchemist's Death Salve - but this needs testing.

Edit: Elementals and Animal forms are immune to Death Salve.

I haven't been cryptic at any point, lol. My first post was saying it was a major form, that you couldn't have both active. You're the one who didn't believe what I was telling you, lol.
i didnt disbelieve you, i asked what you were basing that on. you could have said "it was in the lama notes".
