Should not be bound to character on acquire. That was a bad design decision. If they have to be bound, bind them to account until at least one of the dino slots if filled. This isn't rocket science, but it *is* bad GMing.

They are minor artifacts and every one of them is bound to character. I don't think they should be, but the issue isn't dinosaur ones, it's all of them.

But we can only wear one at a time. So I have probably 25 or 30 of them in my character bank wasting space.

If BTA until worn then BTC was a thing that would be fine.

Yeah. I have over a hundred Dinosaur Bone Minor Artifacts in storage.

Since I cannot know which ones my characters will ultimately use, since I cannot know when and if another specific piece will drop, they all need to take up storage space.

Standing Stone Games makes money selling storage space so it makes sense.

The 3000 point bundles which have 14 garbage items which will never be used... and 20 storage spaces....

Thankfully I still have storage slots to buy which I do when they are on sale. So a few hundred points is all I need.

The helmet and cloak from Skeltons in the Closet are bound to account.

I am not sure why artifacts are btc, but it's been that way since they were introduced and the topic has come up many times.

I don't work for SSG- I pay their bills.

Feed anything non-boosted, rest can be acquired with less headache than owning all of those causes you I reckon.

I go back and forth on that. At one point, I had a full set of Borderlands stuff on three different accounts. Never used it. Finally converted it all into Sentient Experience. A couple years after that, some new Epic characters needed equipment. After a couple months running Epic Borderlands quests, often using full teams, I could not complete equipment for a single character.

When throwing away all the Borderlands stuff, I also threw away almost all my Artifacts because they never fit. I decided my melee and ranged characters would use the Key of Rhukaan Draal. To this day, I have one Key on a character that cannot use it.

Most of my Dinosaur Bone Artifacts came from the Loot Pinata. A fair number have a Mythic bonus. As craft items, they fit very easily into equipment sets. Given my experiences and needs, I am extremely reluctant to give them up.

To this day, I only have one character with an equipped Artifact. Four more have the Artifact waiting but other problems are holding things up.

I should also clarify that, while my characters have a huge amount of potential storage capacity, excluding slots from luxury purchases, affording that capacity remains painful. That leads to the creation of new characters. Storage characters take a huge amount of time away from my Avatar. My Avatar improves painfully slowly.

In hindsight, the expense of storage, the poor performance of storage, probably caused me more collateral problems and time lost, by a massive margin, than any other artificial impediment in DDO.

(Writing posts in these forums is another huge time waster. Haha!)

Wasting time typing forum posts is way more fun than dealing with storage issues. My enjoyment of DDO went up a lot when I just gave up on storage toons - but I'm a nolifer and have friends who will help me and I'll help them get stuff - this means less storage is needed. I used to struggle a lot with storage but now... Eh. It's not as bad.

I stopped hoarding artifacts specifically because those are always a big investment to get running - once you have everything else, it's easier to get the arti than the other stuff - excluding the new rare drops from MD and perhaps raid items.

Huh? There are only what four or five total and clearly you can farm them easily if you have over a hundred.

This is a YOU issue not an SSG issue.

There are 6--Belt, Boots, Bracers, Gloves, Necklace, Ring

Across 24 characters, I have 105 Dinosaur Bone Artifacts--70 Normal; 32 Mythic +1; 3 Mythic +3.

It took approximately three months of Isle of Dread to find the Artifacts above including all three weeks of the Loot Pinata. These runs were largely used to advance from 30 or 32 to 34.

If I destroy a Dinosaur Bone Artifact and later need it back, it will require running some unknown amount of Isle of Dread with an unknown number of characters to reacquire the piece. That is time completely wasted.

This is a YOU issue not an SSG issue.

Since I am not the only one claiming that storing Artifacts is using a lot of storage space, it is an US issue. It is definitely important for the people at Standing Stone Games because they make money selling storage. If they change the binding status of Artifacts to make the system more player friendly, they will lose revenue.

And then...the ad hominem attack.

I am definitely not a hoarder. Quite the opposite.
