Disconnects, Crashes, and Login Issues?

Since the most reason update in mid December, I've been having an issue during my time on Cormyr.

Most of my time on the server seems to have little to no LAG or Rubberbanding (except when doing certain platforming spots for some reason), but sometimes just...everything freezes for a minute and then the game disconnects or outright crashes. Then, I can't log back into my character for sometimes upwards of an hour at the longest. The game will just hang on the loading screen until it crashes several minutes later.

When this happens I am generally able to log in to another character, at least briefly.

I just am wondering, is this type of connection behavior experienced by others on the server?

Also, I signed up on the official discord to be included in the Cormyr channel but have not yet seen the channel become available in order to ask people there. So finally posting this here.

Check antivirus.

Are you runnings Windows 11 and did it just patch you to 24h2 update when the problems started?

Might check some stuff here and see if anything helps (like sweapping between 32bit/64bit client and step 10): https://forums.ddo.com/index.php?th...-as-crowdsourced-by-many-players-advice.1666/

If you don't see that channel on the discord, you might try to right click on the server and toggle "show all channels" on.

I installed Win11 24h2 30 Dec.

It THOROUGHLY hosed up my playing experience. I rolled it back before noon on Dec 31.

Antivirus and firewall both have given exceptions to DDO and Steam folders.
Am on Win 10 still.
I have noticed that when the disconnect issue occurs, I usually can log into a separate character and THEN back into my original character, but when I do it drops me from any party or quest I was on.

Looking at the list, I'm not sure how step 10 and things would help me with Connection issues?
It's just such a curious thing, I don't really experience much lag, except when others in my party also do, despite being on a wireless connection that isn't all that great. I mostly made this post to try and figure out if it's an issue on my end or something others on Cormyr also experience.

As for the discord, thank you for the help on that. I'm still not role flagged despite requesting it from the bot as instructed when I joined the server, but your solution has allowed me to see the channel, so thank you. :]

Step 10 is just a catch-all, sometimes the game accidently use internal GPU (on systems with them) vs decicated GPU and that can cause pauses/lock ups, so just a simple thing to rule out any side effects of that.

Ah, okay.
I've also noticed that since I sometimes have the DDO store open in my browser, that the store also hits an error when I hit these disconnects. I'm curious if that's because the game client closes out or something else. That's more a curiosity than a problem, though.

Anyway, if nothing I'll bookmark your list of common fixes to keep it handy if something does happen. I'm on the 64 bit client through steam, and haven't had any major issues besides the recent disconnects since I started playing in late November. But you never know. ^^;
