Divine Punishment (Being Hit With)

Is there an avoidance to this, a cure when hit with it, or are you just stuck with it until it ends?

Have found info on the spell as if you casted it (no saving throw, no resistance) - but no discussion anywhere on what to do when hit with it.

The orc in the borderlands level 21 seems to be rather nasty with it.

Yeah she's pretty infamous for absolutely bodying unprepared players, between her hard hitting melee and that spell. Having high MRR or health helps, but you can also find or (more reliably) craft a light resistance item and toss it on before the fight with her as resistance items greatly reduce the effect of DoTs.

Okay - so I haven't missed a magic potion that clears them when hit looks like.

Only ever think of asking again when I seem to be on something squishy and run that quest it seems (and then start clicking thru potions trying to stop it (while sprinting for the shrine), ha).

There was an "intention" at some point that casting bless would remove the effect from someone with Divine Punishment. But that ultimately never materialised (like so many things in DDO), and thus there is no removal. So mitigation and brute forcing through the damage is your only options to choose from.

Dark Discorporation will help cut the dot damage in half, but as far as removing it completely, you sol

I thought Break Enchantment was supposed to have removed it. I usually just rough it because I don't typically carry these scrolls.

Just remember which mobs cast it and spell absorb, basically.

Or eat the damage, it's a bit rough on robe MRR cap builds on higher skulls though.

Making sure there’s a clear path to the rez shrine is always an option.

Swap items help - Shining Crest of St Markus has light absorption (18% for epic IIRC) and with raid runes is easy enough to get. Level 20 cannith crafted can give you 43 light resistance between regular and insightful. In combo with MRR that definitely knocks the edge off. I think light absorption doesn’t exist CC (or I’m too dumb to find it) and there’s a dearth of other absorption or light resistance items.

Why don't DOTs end when the mobs die? If my firewall or blade barrier ends when I die it only seems fair that a mob'a divine punishment or black dragon bolt should end when they die.
Because they are pot ticking spells, you cant open the door, the chest etc. 6 seconds here, 14 seconds there, they add up pretty quick under a 6 hour pot.
