I just think that not every build/class has to achieve the same amount of DPS, nor do I think that DPS should be the only metric to be counted.
If you think not every build/class has to achieve the same amount of dps, do you think that's fair to all the other players who want the game balanced?

What do you think they would say?

Im sorry, but all this elitist stuff that basically says that you have to play high reaper at cap to be considered a decent build is just a bunch of nonsense. Just have fun and play the game the way you like and have this thing called FUN while playing. After all, its just a GAME and GAMES are supposed to be fun, not a constant grind for perfection.

Wouldn't it be fun if every class/build can contribute at all levels of difficulty, instead of 1 or 2 classes/builds being the top dog in all difficulties?

Why do all the elitists play inquisitive?

Come on, its more than that. Inquis, Arty, Sorc, Monk thrower, and if feeling crazy, a SWF melee build with 5 levels of DL, 3 levels of Bard, and being SDK.

Were chatting ranged only, should have been clear, so shuriken is valid. Inquis number one ranged, then shuriken. That's what all the elitists play for ranged.

Context matters. Most of us hyper focused on single-target raid builds know this. We do get a little tunnel vision when talking about whether a build is "good" or not, though.

A great raid build doesn't mean it's good for questing. Repeaters *suck* for quests due to the annoyingly slow targeting and button response. It's pretty much only good for locking onto a big fat target and pulling it down.

I'd swap to INQ and take the 20% DPS hit in a heartbeat if I could one-button swap for quests at cap. Fortunately, I created it purely for raids. I v.rarely quest on it and I only TR it to swap into a different ranged raid build.

There's a LOT of focus on maximizing single target DPS for raids because it's a singular shared goal. When you start talking about fun quest builds, personal taste blurs the target and makes it more difficult to share & discuss.

Sadly there are dozens of threads over the years. And the fix was right there in front of SSG when they buffed longbows and shortbows. All they had to do was the same 1.5x main stat bonus to damage.

Time Bomb hits like a truck but I'd happily have that damage reduced a little if the base weapon damage got the same 1.5x longbow and shortbow boost. And they came back and boosted longbows and shortbows a 2nd time too. So they had 2 obvious chances to fix GXB but ignored it.

All that work on the Mechanic tree and they didnt touch the fundamental issue. The base damage for GXB is just weak.
Agreed, if they gave GXBs the same damage boost with PS/IPS that they do with bows, it would be better.
