Hello fellow gamers,
Dockerman is my first character started in 2006 during open beta.
He had over 150 reincarnations, unable to count them any longer due to repeats of the same build.
My favorite class is Cleric. My triple racial completionist was completely clerics.
I transferred him to Wayfinder as a retirement home, with 20 alts to hold all his gear.
My new main character is Earthease on Ghallanda.
I am looking forward to developing this man; I role play in my head all the time while playing.
I am a natural dungeon master who has developed over 1000 modules for my old table top game.
Suggestions:
I suggest that DDO be more strict in alignment / class choices.
Any class using poisons should be required neutral evil alignment; players should be able to opt out of poison enhancement trees for other alignments.
Any class using damage type 'evil' should be required a chaotic-evil alignment, also allowing players to opt out of those enhancement trees for other alignments.
Lawful Good alignments should not be allowed to use poisons nor evil-type damage.
Alchemist is broken.
Artificer is broken.
Monk is broken, always was.
Fix your problems before you game fades away.
Stop entering new content until the alignment, the artificer, the alchemist and the monk is fixed.
(Creating content of a barbarian doing more damage than a monk is fully broken; a fighter specializing in open hand combat as compatible to a monk - fully broken.)
Try creating an artificer / bard / fighter: fully broken due to the artificer class. Artificer is a prestige class (prestige class - D&D 3.5) - period.
When the Ebberon Campaign setting came out, we discussed at length the Warforged race.
The Warforged are robots. Magic gave them souls. Warforged need to be tempered. Giving Bladeforged a self complete heal ability is fully broken. Allowing players a feat to make them immune to healing is fully broken, always has been. These robots were crafted for the war. Their favorite class is fighter. Most of their levels should be restricted to fighter. Bladeforged favorite class is paladin. Restrict those to paladin. Do not allow either race a third multiclass. This is a radical idea. But this race is fully broken and needs radical ideas to fix them.
Iconics are all over the place. Catfolk is a 3.5 race. Catfolk in DDO is completely broken.
Frenzy berserker is a chaotic-evil alignment.
Finally, a Sorcerer is more powerful than a Wizard. Sorcerer's are born with innate powers. Wizards studied magic (studied sorcerer magic) to wield magic. Put some thought into the history of magic to differentiate these two classes. Merlin was a Wizard. Gandalf was a Sorcerer. Harry Potter was both. Sorcerers in legend used White Magic. Wizards learned Black Magic. The necromancer in Tolken's Middle Earth was not human. Morgan La'fey (Lady of Fey) learned magic and turned it evil. Necromancers should be restricted from good alignments.
Again, these are simple ideas. No need to get upset about them. The alignment system needs to be fixed.
I would like to see Pixie and Rakasha sorcerers, and on character creation, required to have multiple levels in sorcerer before entering the game.
I recommend purchasing a ViP account for any game you play because our developers need a steady income.
See you in game.
