What amazes me is that people are amazed by the situation.
It's like people trying to squeeze through the doors with all the others and complaining about all the pressure and physical interactions.
It was fairly obvious that the system will be overstressed with thousands of people trying to pack and transfer at the same time. And the funniest thing is that there is not really any benefit in transferring early. If you cared about names you could with no problem log into your new server and create a toon to reserve your favourite(s). I know I did. And I will transfer in a week... or a month when all the queues clear and all the kinks are worked out.

I had recommended on Forums that they add 400 Character Bank Slots on every character that would go away on TR. Instead they said, sometime next week they will add 60 Character Bank slots on 64-Bit worlds? That helps those who lose Favor-rewarded Character Bank and Backpack slots (2 + 2 = 4 with 20 spaces each = 80 slots... 80 < 60). They also said they would add 2 Character slots on all worlds (hasn't happened and 10 slots on 64-bit Destination Worlds. I haven't seen the 2-Character slots and haven't heard of anyone who has.

Yeah I was expecting something like 80 temporary slots which would expire upon the next TR on the new world as they wouldn't be necessary to be provided by SSG after that point. But getting 60 permanent slots instead means one only has to get one tier of favor before transferring and we get the further benefit of forever having 60 spaces to store even more loot in future TR cycles.
I'm guessing the 2 Character slots might need a hotfix as they haven't appeared yet. I'm unsure.
It's also possible they're holding off on the 2 Character slots to prevent "everyone" from transferring yet so people who need those slots are stalled, and people who need the 60 bank to move on are stalled too.

I have retried. Failed again. Two characters and all my guild property are lost in the astral plane . Contacted support, left copies of the email, haven't heard from a person as far as I can tell.

Is the transfer shutdown indeed for 12:00 (midnight) until 1:30 AM? Did this occur already?

Ouch. I'm sure it's not lost and there will be some remedy to recover those data - keeping my fingers crossed. Was there any infomation given about the cause of the failed transfer?
