so I need to run quests to get the favor space for back pack and character bank on 32 characters in order to empty my TR Caches so I can transfer these characters. this is going to take some time so I would like to see the 32 bit servers available longer than the August retirement of the 32 bit servers. Say until the end of OCT. and that is just on Argo
Honestly, I think the Devs are counting on "this" being a cashgrab ... for players to buy all Favor unlocks: 32-pt builds, classes ,races, enhancement trees, etc.

As European players, we really have it rough when it comes to the timing of maintenance. It's always right in the middle of our playable hours.
And now, with the separated servers, it almost feels like we're being left out or treated differently.
Honestly, it’s starting to feel a bit like discrimination. I just hope no one comes at me for saying this but if someone does, I can already guess they’re probably American. I see it coming a mile away.

Honestly, I think the Devs are counting on "this" being a cashgrab ... for players to buy all Favor unlocks: 32-pt builds, classes ,races, enhancement trees, etc.
It can't be much of cashgrab since they've said they're working on providing a free method to deal with issues from favor & transfers.

I'm west coast USA and my best chance to play is Wednesday mornings (during the typical downtime) so I actually do feel your pain. This week is less of a problem for me personally because I work the other days of the week.

I think most of us horrible Americans are actually sad to see our Euro friends migrate to a new server, and can sympathize with bad downtimes. Isn't SSG going out of their way to set up Moonsea so your ping is better? I wonder if eventually you'll get downtimes that align better with your local timezones with the more local server? (This may benefit me as well if there's a server up when I'm able to play)

So the plan is to let the cache-less people transfer first to reduce server load, then offer a solution later? right? please?
I have 10 characters ready to TR as soon as I hit the new servers in order to free up space.
We'll see how that helps their server load.

in my 30 years as an application developer and database developer I know this can be done without users needing to do all of the work you want them to do. please delay this and get it done right
Yeah, but I doubt any of these devs have 30 years experience and that is part of the problem. Everything is FAST nowadays. No time for proper planning or best practices just get it done quick.

Can you show screenshots of your characters with 300+ BTC items in the TR cache which cant be found a home?

I keep asking, but no-one has shown any proof of there being a problem. Which is probably why it looks like its just a grift for free stuff.
BTC isn't the problem and stop pretending it is because you can't argue against the real problem.

If you want to have even a single copy of each named item you've gotten while playing you're talking many thousands of items.

I just spent 6 hours last night crunching gear into reaper shards and destroying any duplicates of gear, a lot of it Sharn and epic Sharn, even though I often run several characters that could us it. I also destroyed a lot of gear with old effects that don't exist anymore.

Even just having a voice and an epic voice for each of 20 characters is 40 slots taken up. 4 bags each is another 80 slots. 10 spell components is another 200 slots. 2 hireling contracts, stack of heal, stack of raise, 3 types of potions, another 140 slots eaten up.

Even just having leveling sets from each expansion for TRing for arcane, divine, melee and ranged is upwards of 300 pieces.

And if you're going to tell me that they way peopll should play is to just throw away all the named items they get even if they're mythic 4 and reaper, then I honestly have trouble believing the game you play is DDO and not Forum Troll.

Why is delaying the deadline not feasible? Its not like having to migrate to Win 11 at work because Microsoft is pulling support for WIn 10 at the end of September, what is preventing a shift in deadline times, pushing it past 31st August? Game on 32 bit servers has issues, transferring to shiny new 64 bit servers has issues, whats the difference? Whats stopping a delay in the deadline and getting stuff fixed to begin with?
Totally agree with you. A simple delay in the August 31 deadline till everything is fixed would avoid a lot of headaches to all players. Why is the simplest decisions are always the ones that are the hardest to take geeeezzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!! :)

Well I'm in EU and I understand that as a Boston based company they need to do whatever maintenance needs to be done during EST working hours as opposed to GMT/CEST. Surely you don't expect them do do their maintenance at 10/11PM at night their time when it's 3/4AM in Europe and we're all asleep?

The separated servers are the opposite of being left out IMHO - the practically untenable service we'd have to live with if we had to connect to Vegas is being eliminated at significant cost to stand up a server in the EU to cater specially to us which I'd never have expected at this age of the game. We should be grateful.

Imho, there is truth in that, but I don't think it's the whole picture or even the main issue. And my background is 40+ years in the field.

More character bank space is CLEARLY the answer, but they would rather give us additional character slots. Tone deaf. SSG, it is the BTC items we are trying to solve for here which, by the way, are bound to character and cannot be moved to another character. I simply do not understand why they are not listening. You clearly here us, but you are not LISTENING.
I replied to another post earlier saying the a simple solution would be to push back the August 31 deadline till it is all fixed. Another simple solution would be to issue a redeem code to add more space to the Character bank just like they did for the Shared bank (100SLOTS). As said earlier, why are simple decisions so hard to take????

They advise players to not rush to buy options, and that a free solutions will (probably) be available.
