LATEST: Wayfinder and transfers have reopened.

UPDATE: The game worlds except for Wayfinder have reopened.

The DDO game worlds will be unavailable on Wednesday, April 15th from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Eastern (-4 GMT) for maintenance. We apologize for the longer downtime tomorrow, which is necessary due to the maintenance taking place. Additionally, we originally hoped to deploy a game update on Wednesday to correct important issues with the release of Update 79, but our effort to prepare the build was not successful. As a result, we will have downtime on Thursday this week to release Update 79.0.1, and release notes will be released on Wednesday.

Yes, the resources that are being used on Wednesday cannot do it on Thursday. That is the same math anywhere. You are assuming all the resources are in house, which we don't know and they really don't need to tell us all the nitty gritty details.

Cordovan made it sound like the intention was to do both on Wednesday, but that the patch wasn't complete in time to be put out on Wednesday. This led me to the assumption that both could be done on the same day.

Now, you do have a point, that some external resource, or even internal resource that was available on Wednesday may not available on Thursday, thus requiring spreading it out due to fewer resources on the alternate day (but that's a different math problem.)

Ummmm, just a question @Cordovan do you read what you post? Your second post contradicts your first one. On one hand you were going to do both on Wednesday, but then you say you cant do both on Thursday due to resources required? Just trying to understand how resources would be available on Wednesday but not Thursday. Couldnt you reschedule resources as you were aware the update wasnt ready before todays outage? What about postponing both outages until next Wednesday, at which point update would be ready and gives time to schedule resources? Just throwing it out there, becuase i would think that disrupting the player base once is better than doing it twice? Kinda makes one think that the playerbase isnt that important.

Thanks for the heads up Cordovan,

I understand that sometimes certain circumstances Forces SSG's hands to do something like take down the server 2 days in a row.
Time to work on my stealth archer in Skyrim for a bit.

- buddy boost and strength in numbers
- guild renown boost
- crafting exp boost
- challenge reward boost
- loot boost
- treasure hunter boost
- double commendations
- double daily exp
- double remnants

The issue is more that this maintenance extends beyond DDO to other games across the data center.
