100% the warden setup is great; I love playing them in LOTRO. If they ever bring back a combo system to DDO, they just need to copy that code and setup.
Yeah 3 builders without repeats, except plain pairs (129 combo slots) is far more manageable than 6 builders with all combos of 3 (6*6*6=216 combo slots)
But you still have the problem of DDO's combat mechanics having little capacity for queueing next attack reliably like they do in LOTRO. There are too many ways (both in-game mechanics and technical issues) that could often break combos mid-build or cause you to otherwise whiff. I think that would render any Warden-style combat system DOA, unfortunately.
Also with pace of play compared to other classes, the finishers would have to be WAAAAY powerful to justify spending 3 attack cycles on builders...thats basically what they tried to do with Fatesinger right after the ED revamp, and people complained that it was too much lost DPS compared to other builds that could just spam active CD attacks. And, outside raiding, often times fights dont last long enough to be able to build to a finisher anyway.
