I'm forbidden to create more polls. The forum god has removed this ability from me, much like Karsus and his 12th level spell.Unsure if normal or not, make a poll so we can decide as a community.

You went overboard, right about now, I am.sure he is relieved you can't put up a poll.I'm forbidden to create more polls. The forum god has removed this ability from me, much like Karsus and his 12th level spell.
Who are you kind sir, you seem familiar.I used to be in a wed evening static group ..........but I can't remember who else was in the group now..........just sayin........
As a European customer paying for a subscription, this is literally second day of gameplay entirely lost due to downtime in the last week. Some kind of compensation (like a little extension of VIP) would be fair.Sorry to report that we need additional time for the maintenance work. We are extending the downtime window an additional two hours to 11pm Eastern.
Far better than "the level 14 hireling no longer has Epic Destinies and is just a useless hireling now"...
50 pushups over an almost 12 hour period is not overly (or at all) impressive.I have something important to report.
I just did 50 pushups and I feel absolutley fantastic.
Is this normal?
I'm freaking out. I need my DDO to take me back into my normal semi-vegetative grinding state.
I'm scared.
No, they're not "messing" with it. They are fixing a bug that had the lv 14 version actually be a lv 20 version with Shiradi ED abilities.Ugh, I keep missing things. Are they messing with the new ...druid archer hireling? Where/when was this posted? I HATE skipping the latest gossip/news ?
Thank you in advance.
Have you really read all that has been posted by the community manager and others?Ya just can't make everyone happy can you.
People whine and cry about lag and other bugs in the game, then whine and cry when they try to fix problems they were whining and crying about earlier.
Good Grief Charlie Brown
Get a life already there are other worlds (games) than this ...
The poor Dev's can't win for losing.
Y'all lighten up and let them do their job.
They supposedly pause VIP on downtimes. As a European customer paying for a subscription, this is literally second day of gameplay entirely lost due to downtime in the last week. Some kind of compensation (like a little extension of VIP) would be fair.
Thanks for the update Cordo, as a system engineer for a SaaS product I appreciate the folks that have to put this time and work in.Sorry to report that we need additional time for the maintenance work. We are extending the downtime window an additional two hours to 11pm Eastern.
You forgot to mention the lubrication of the kanooter valve. Learned that from Fletch.Probably upgrading from 5400 IDE to 10k SCSI, upgrading the 10MB switches to 100MB, blowing dust out the rack, cleaning the gunk off the mouse ball wheels, degauss the monitors, maybe run memmaker if there is enough time...
Ahh, there it is. The classic, "Poor, tiny little dev studio. They're tiny and struggle to keep the lights on." defense. I'm surprised it took this long to pop up.Well SSG is a company with less than 25 persons, passionates, skillfuls and dedicated, that provide us, gamers, a lot of fun since years. Servers and related infrastructure need maintenance and even in far bigger companies, unexpected or extended downtime may occur and are most of the time mandatory. Let's just be patient.![]()
This is interesting to know. I did not realize DDO was more popular than LoTRO in any timeframe.Ahh, there it is. The classic, "Poor, tiny little dev studio. They're tiny and struggle to keep the lights on." defense. I'm surprised it took this long to pop up.
Here's some information you may want to consider before saying something like this in the future.
In 2020, DDO had an annual year-to-date revenue of $6.9 million through September, which means they more than likely cracked at least $9 million in revenue for the whole year. (click the pictures for a full-sized image)

Also in 2020, DDO was the one of, if not the most profittable brand per-player in Daybreak Games' portfolio.
![]()
EG7 (Enad Global 7) bought Daybreak Games in 2020. They became EG7's largest business unit at the time they were acquired.
In 2023, Daybreak's net revenue was ~$71.4 million. Their adjusted EBITDA was ~$15.5 million.
![]()
In 2023, the EG7 executive management team's base salary (doesn't include options and other forms of compenstation) totaled $36 million.
![]()
While DDO may account for only a portion of those totals, it was one of the more profitable units.
In short, if they're struggling because they're a "small" team and don't have the headcount, skillsets, and resources needed to fix some of this stuff and do things better, it's because not getting a proper portion of the financial pie from EG7.
There could be any number of reasons why, but it pretty much boils down to either intentionally running too lean or DDO's leadership team isn't good at getting their fair share from their owners.
So at the end of the day, these problems are still on them, regardless of the why or the exact details.
Paragraphs are your friend.think i will need to be re examining the terms and conditions because i'm sure a full day down every week now is not in there if i were not running three guilds and had'nt been playing for 15/16 years and spent thousands of pounds on a game that has never fully ran with no problems seems like in all those years you would have sorted something but sadly no and instead of taking your time and making sure game runs as it should you just keep releasing update after update and game issues just keep getting worse and in 2024 i would have thought ddo would have at least sorted their name generator 5 min to make a toon and 5 hours to find a name (what is that all about?) i actually convinced people to start playing ddo but now they have since left and stated they wont be back for multiple reasons all to do with poor performance and ingame issues so now i am left with 3 guilds that all have the biggest ships all the buffs for lvl of guilds and now all solo guilds as i refuse to take in members simply because i have not paid out all that money for ship and buffs for someone to just be able to take if i have not been on for a certain amount of time so now i could'nt get people to play ddo if my life depended on it and it's all down to ingame issues being so bad they wont play so it would be great if you stopped expanding the game and started fixing the issues that are present in the game
