So you guys are really going implement this BS

Death Ward no longer completely negates negative energy damage from inflict/necro spell damage, but reduces it by 50%. This is flagged with the Shield trait, much like Fire Shield/Energy Shield is for Fire damage.

I dont see Whirlwind attack going up by +1 crit/range. Was that removed? Or was it just missed.

Ppl were complaing about WWA becoming too op so the +1/+1 multi/range was most likely scrapped, shame because regular cleaves have an awful hitbox on twf and are a waste of a feat, great for SWF tho!

ouch...well, that blows. i mean, you do have to invest a few feats to even get WWA... typical. lol

Hey Devs,

on a side note, I said it again, and here it is once more. Why don't you make Drifting Lotus at least usable by lowerering the CD from 15 secs to 10 secs. 15 secs is laughable in this day and age. pretty please, with sugar on top? :)

Add crusade to that CD reduction as well 🙏.

Psh... you think the Death Ward change hurts? Did you get this far?

"
  • Vistani Knife Fighting
    • Core 6 attack speed bonus only applies to when using a dagger or kukri.

Most VKF builds use kukris now anyway, since they're one of the best melee weapons, so this change will only affect old or flavor builds.

As for the death ward change, I think negative energy spells do a lot of damage, under the assumption that players (and many mobs) will be immune anyway. I can't wait to see how many threads there will be about people being 1-shot by fod or necromantic ray or even cause wounds spells while leveling.
I'm pretty sure it'll be like the time they buffed BDB and didn't take into account that lots of caster mobs use it.

  • The Mists of Ravenloft expansion bundle item vendor can now be found in the Eberron Hall of Heroes. Players that own the Collector's or Ultimate Editions of Mists of Ravenloft can now speak to this NPC to claim items from this expansion.

Will we be seeing the collectors and ultimate expansion bundle for purchase? Or is it more of a "you can get the cosmetics from this NPC instead of being generated with each character" change...

I'm very disappointed with the change to Deathward. You're destroying one of the few decent spells to do absolutely nothing for negative casters. No, I'm not changing my mantle to negative. Negative absolutely sucks; it makes you useless against the millions of constructs in this game (you just created a raid where all the trash is constructs, and it's not the first time, lol lol), and half damage against Deathward doesn't help a damn thing. No, my PM doesn't rejoice. My PM is angry with you. Give me a dispel for Deathward that works. I'm a wizard; I should know how to dispel. Dispelling is an essential job for casters in PnP. Your change is bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad.

You still haven't figured out that this isn't 5ed, it's DDO. By giving xbows the default DEX, you're destroying INT builds, which are more expensive because they need an extra feat (Insightful Reflex). I see you learned absolutely nothing from the assassin, although at least the assassin made more sense. The point of DDO is that artificers and mechanics are intelligent people. But of course, you're the same team that destroyed hybrids and made it impossible for artificers to use their spells offensively, so everyone's multiclassing to maximize damage.

Balance? SSG, you don't know the meaning of that word.

By the way, Vanessa butterfly wings? God, that looks terrible with wild-themed clothing. At least the hardcore ones were nicer.

The Ravenloft vendor in the HoH is the only good change in this update, though I don't understand why they haven't also added Feywild, Menace, and Shadowfell, which need it just as much. Add them, devs.

wow. the changes to Mechanic is a joke!

I was hoping for changes that makes Gxbow a bit more viable. Highly underwhelming! Deeply disappointing!

Melees and bows got a buff is awesome , but poor good old GxBow will still be left behind on the shelfs collecting dust :(

Furthermore, the selection of negative spells for Wizard is awful. It's fine for Dark Apostate (the name Apostate is wrong, it should be Disciple or Acolyte lol), but not for PM. It's impossible to get a decent rotation with Negative on Wizard. Also, if you want to break the Negative immunity so your mantle does something, you need to be at PM tier 5, which absolutely destroys your DPS.

I think, devs, you don't understand anything about Pale Masters...

This change doesn't help; it just ruins a spell. And you should return to the policy of the early years of DDO when spells were more powerful, and when they were duplicated in items or other sources, it was in less powerful versions. When you forgot that principle, everything started going downhill. Of course, you forgot many other pillars of D&D besides that principle.

What a mess.

Yes, melee classes have received a mixed bag of changes, but those who adapt will get a buff. As for weapons, this only makes the best weapons even better. But this is the style of balance that SSG has shown us over the years.

Fixed for you. For players, negative spells aren't so nice.

Remember that they have talked about making the various parts of expansions to be able to be bought A La Carte. This maybe is the first step towards that. If so then it won't be long before they offer the Bottle of Mist (IN MY OPINION).

It would be a QOL upgrade if I don't have to keep dumping all the cosmetics from each toon I make.
