The frills are connected to the memory cleanup issue? Who knew.

Well, I guess if mushrooms can be doors...

The DDO game worlds will be unavailable on Wednesday, September 3rd from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern (-4 GMT) to release Update 75.2. Find the release notes on DDO.com. Thank you for your patience, and we will see you back in the game soon!
So, a month and a half later and still no fix for stuck in transfer characters. Worlds go down and what's gonna be done that hasn't been done already to fix the issue? CS silence doesn't seem to be answer.

Garbage collection isn't AI. We have the same archer lag we had when we'd regularly wipe when Caught in the Web was introduced. Players can barely do anything until the 1 ranged enemy, that is causing all the lag, dies, then poof, everyone can act again.

*pensive sigh*
"I don't know about that"

Also, why extended downtime? Are you coding on the go while servers are down?
I...I'm confused

So the keeping track of and destroying foo foo objects hurts performance, so we're going to stop counting covid numbers ignore those now. Next week we are going to use a black sharpie to prevent poor memory management routines from rocking the servers like a hurricane.

I'm disappointed. About 10 days ago, you said you had found a big memory leak problem and implied you knew how to fix it, but just couldn't get it done in time for last week's update, so it would be this week. Now, the release notes and Sev's post sound like you are making temporary bandaid fixes in the desperate hope that it will keep the player base from total panic mode...

I guess we will see what the performance is like in 24 hours, but my optimism is waning fast.

Edit: I guess there are *two* updates on back-to-back days? Meh...so it will be Thursday night before we can know anything meaningful...

Really hope that wasnt a creative way of saying we turned 80% of the landscape decorations off.

10 bucks says we end up with invisible rocks we get stuck and rubberband on like back in Asherons Call 2.

I hate to be that guy, but there is a typo in the release notes. The last "then" should be "than".
People who say "I hate to be that guy" actually relish being that guy. Congrats on finding a typo in the release notes. Well done!!!!!

"You may see some trees, bushes, or other decorative objects in a different location then expected as a result of this change."

TRANSLATION: trees, bushes, and the like will block entrances to quests, the airship, and other portals/doors. Happy questing!
