duel class Cleric/Wizard build help

I usually go rogue but want to try dual class wizard/cleric or cleric/wizard. Any suggestions on a good all around build would be greatly appreciated! I have never really tried anything yet and don't want to waste time on trial and error. Thank you in advance!
I didn't read other posts. I'd sayit'll be difficult since cleric is WIS power and wizard is INT power. If you can max out both WIS and INT to 18 in creation, you may be able to pull it off. Depends on which will be your primary to take your ability buffs at every 4th level and in your trees.
Cleric uses CHA for turn undead, so maybe a Sorcerer, cleric hybrid may work better if you can max your CHA and WIS to 18 at creation.
If you're set on wizard, arcane trickster, artificer, and alchemist has some healing ability if that's what you're looking for. Those classses are all INT power based. To be honest, what you loose at capstone with casters by multi-classing isn't really worth what you get with the other classes. Personally, I'd go pure trickster, artificer, or alchemist. But the point is to have fun your way, so knock yourself out.

dual wield and I mostly solo. I also like to play more difficult ways of play. For instance say character lvl 10 and quest say 13 enjoying the challenge is most exciting for me especially when solo. I play hard and love the impossible. ?
Then I support the one comment to play stormsinger, you some healing, and can limited cast or melee, since it's bard, it'll be extremely challenging to play solo. If you focus on casting , you can use feydark tree to use CHA for damage and attack to help your melee attacks. While you can dual wield as a bard, you'd be better off with a buckler depending on the enhancement direction you want to go. One of the bard trees unlocks some martial weapons. Dual wield hand axe or light pick could be pretty lethal.
That said, you go half elf dilitante-fighter and do the same with dual wield as arcane trickster. Being rogue, trickster is still squishy just can do a bit of everything except setting traps.

Stormsinger is actually easy to play as a caster since you get so many SLAs.

Well, Stormsinger is a jack of all trades. It's easy to play, sure.

However, she is not particularly good in melee or casting or DPS.

Another anecdote: Legendary R10 Terror of Demogorgon quest (A Long Way to Mushrooms)

Barbarian: 35
Monk: 20
Bard: 6
Favored Soul: 1

However, every party do love having a spell singer (or Stormsinger archetype) in their party.

I think a geared spellsinger can get some of the highest and easiest caster DPS in the game (excluding ATr). Which is still not very high compared to martials. They just don't get IKs or innate immunity stripping, but IKs are kind of useless against anything that matters.

Well, pure spell singers do have wail of the banshee. In Epic, from Fatesinger destiny they also get "Cut the Strings". Both are IKs. They aren't great, but sometimes they work in easier content and raids.

Some more good advice: Go pure Cleric or FvS, you can still heal and call down fire. Now even with an immunity strip. If you want slightly more damage, go pure stormsinger and save yourself the pain. It's an arcane with healing.

The way spells progress in DDO, there is very little benefit of combining casters beyond a small splash (if capstone is not important). I don't think this really satisfies the intent of your questions of a wizard/cleric, so if you want to do both healing and call down lightning, then go Stormsinger.

Duergar Pure 20 Cleric with Mauls has been a lot of fun. Str based, with Con and Cha. Its a bit behind Barbarian but not a lot. 16-20 x4 from level 14 onwards.

We are only going to 20 though.

Just saw this and curious, did it work?
If you build Vistani right, it's not easy to mess up. :p

If your goal is low-mid reaper and you have a group, you'd have fun with any of the builds. I don't recommend for high reaper or non-casual raids (IE: LH raids).

Another vote for Stormsinger/Spellsinger here. I really liked some Stormsinger lives with Spellsinger being the T5, was a fairly effective caster and buffer, NOBODY is going to say no to a HoT and extra SP...

FVS as a single class can mix melee and casting for a fun, varied experience if you're married to melee. Also, pure Wizard Eldritch Knight can mix in melee quite well.

If you're looking to mix arcane and divine casting plus melee, see others' cautionary comments.

If you'd be willing to mix arcane and divine casting with minimal melee, it can be fun - but endgame likely not as functional as a non-split.

I have a (now second iteration) Chaos Domain Cleric/Wildmage hybrid who is a blast to play - pardon the pun. ;) It casts as a level 20 in both schools thanks tothr Mixed Magics enhancement, has chaos damage in Greater Color and Prismatic Sprays, multiple Chaos Hammer SLAs, and the surge mechanics are a hoot IMO.

A warning stands however that you'll be splitting casting stats (WIS and CHA in this case), so again endgame you'll be less effective than a pure, single-stat caster.

What is the goal here?

Do you want a stipulation challenge with 10cleric/10wizard? The weakness being the point.

Or are you simply looking for a hybrid approach with self healing? Something not meta but also not deliberately awful.

DDO can get extremely punishing really quick to bad builds. It is extremely complex and opaque. It gets frustraring easily which leads to people quitting. It really has nothing to do with PnP anymore.

I highly recommend doing a bard, a trickster, a dark apostate or a melee fvs first. They can all do the hybrid approach and be fun at it.

I find it depressing that all too many hopped on the shame the bad build decision bandwagon without realizing that some clown had unearthed a two year old thread with an inane question. The OP is probably not around after two years.

Until we get Mystic Theurge, you're much better off with WM/FvS, mixed magics, and go hard on light/alignment

Many questions before you can get a good answer.
For what content? Heroic, Reaper, Raids ?
Are you willing to slip in Mixed Magics at some point?
Weapon centric or caster centric?

Has anyone tried multiclassing 2 caster classes with 3 levels of Arcane trickster and https://ddowiki.com/page/Mixed_Magics ?

Does that caster level maximizing apply to both other classes (wizard and cleric) and their enhancement SLAs?
I did a couple of Mixed Magics builds. One was 16 Trickster / 4 Stormsinger, better than pure in heroics, but you lose out on full ambush in epics. Another was 11 Sacred Fist / 6 Trickster / 3 Dragon Disciple, full caster levels on Incinerating Wave, with Dolorous Acid on Arcane Contraption offhand, SWF with Vistani. This was pretty solid actually. And yes, you do get full caster levels for all spells and SLAs of each class.

If you want to play Dark Apostate as Cleric. You can try a Imbue Dice build with Wizard and Dark Apostate. Like 12 Wizard 6 Dark Apostate 2 Rogue, it is a idea. You can use:
Dark Apostate Toggle Imbue and extras imbue dices;
EK tree T5 or T5 Dark Apostate;
Toxic Affinity (Rogue Assassin Tree) for +3 imbue
Need be careful: Death Aura can't heal you if you are under Dark Apostate Transformation.
It is just an idea, I don't know if it can work in endgame, but can be doable during leveling
